Exclamation Results! SATORI... Coco vs Soil

High everyone,

these are some pics from two grows: one in coco and the other in soil. The photos show the plants at day 55 in flowering - so they are going to expand in size now even more in the final flowering phase.
The tech details:
a) Coco in 3,5 L pots / hand watering daily/ EC 1,0-1,3 with starting EC 0,4-0,5/ General Hydroponics 3 part fertilizer / 400W per m2
b) Quality soil mix in 7 L pots/ during mid-flowering low dosage of Plagron Algae Bloom/ 250-400W per m2

(Photos are courtesy of Weedieee and Massai from grower.de)

The Satoris have been very easy to manage in coco and soil and require only moderate amounts of fertilizer for top performance.
Photos 1-3 (organic grow)
Photos 4-6 (coco grow)

Mike

My brother made me, yes MADE me, order Satori after he read the description in the Big Book of Buds 2. Mike we have become Madela freaks. We have all your strains so far except Sadhu....but we plan on getting them all. THanks for such nice beans at such a low price. Peace brother.

Mr. Mike, you have some beautiful looking strains. Currently beginning 3 kalichakras which were recommended for medical resons that I'm really excited about. Just courious as to how long you guys have been in business. Also, does Satori have med applications? BTW, thanks for bringing us your products.

Thanks for trying out Kalichakra.
We officially introduced our strains Feb. 2004 at the Spannabis in Barcelona. Breeding has been my passion since 25 years - Jasmin 18 years and still counting...
Satori does have a high medicinal potential. Actually these infos on our strains are included in our online seed catalog if you like to visit our web site.
We are currently having her tested for various medical uses. At the moment it´s quite safe to say that she is great against depression and anxiety attacks. Due to her potency and clear up-high we do expect to hear positive reports on more medical uses in the near future.

@hazyfontazy: both results were outstanding! Give me some time to copy the grow results with details on yield and potency and I will update here soon.

Hi Everyone,

Let's take a plunge into the depths of trichomia as we watch the grow results presented by two Mandala gardeners who tested SATORI on soil and coco. This is the final result from the intro at Harvest Highs.

For starters the tech specs:
* Coco under 400W/600W light rail using cuttings from 3 different mother plants.
* Soil grow in 6,5L pots under (only!) 250W from seed. More info at thread starter.

The soil grow by Weedieee yielded a whopping 85gr. (3,0 oz.) of dried manicured bud from the taller lady. The other plants also did well and averaged around 70-80 gr. (2,5-2,8 oz).

His smoke report:

A refreshing bud to smoke with a great sativa high. After just a few puffs it puts a satisfying smile on my face and everything feels easy going. Very potent stuff!

And here are some of the cool bud shots he made on harvest day from three different plants...

We continue with the coco grow in 3,5L pots and hand watering. Fertilizer used was General Hydroponics Flora series.
In this grow cuttings were taken from 3 different mother plants. The flowering plants grew to 70, 86, and 90cm (or 27,6"/34"/35,5") and yielded 45, 53, and 52 gr. dry bud respectively (1,58 oz/1,87 oz/1,83 oz).

If we take the average weight of 1,74 oz. we can calculate how much a SOG set-up in coco would yield.
An SOG with 16 cuttings: 28 oz. (794 gr)
One with 24 cuttings: 41,8 oz. (1,2 Kg)

This is theoretically up to twice as much as we have indicated for the strain info!
At least we are not exagerating ...
Quick tip: select the large Satori pheno for highest yields.

His strain report:

I recommend Satori for SOG because of their slim appearance. The plants require 3 weeks veg growth until the first strong cuttings can be taken.
After only 2 days rooting I put them into flowering (they were 10cm/4" tall). The average height of the mature plants was 60-80 cm.

Satori grows uniformly, some plants remain a bit shorter but it does not affect the yield much. After the 7th week in flowering you can expect a big boost of fresh flowers, so it pays to be patient.
The nutrient requirement is very low. Satori prefers low EC levels and you should start with low dosages. In my coco grow the EC never exceeded 1,1 (with EC of water at 0,3).

The flowering time provided by the breeder is realistic (63-70 days). When the plants finish they have a sweet-spicy-hashy aroma that develops even more during drying.

His smoke report:

Even if some plants have less resin than others it does not reflect potency. The high is unbelievably strong and intensifies with each inhalation! It is a clear and up-high. Just what I expect from a sativa.

Here are the beautiful plant shots provided by the grower.

First comes one plant in full view and close-ups. Notice how fresh many of the pistils are. This is a typical trait of Satori. That's why you should harvest your plants according to our recommended flowering time, by judging trichomes turning milky, and a decrease in new bud growth.

Edit: more photos can be viewed in our website gallery
