Hello veggie friends...

Well I definitely have more experience growing other things but am goona give strawberries a go her in the new year... My efforts serve two purposes really.. 1. I can provide my daughter with her favorite fruit, and 2. I can learn about strawberry cultivation on a small scale so later I can amplify it...

You see I have this dream of getting some property ( soon ) and setting up a big greenhouse and growing strawberres as a way to support my family...
( maybe a couple years down the road).. The rat race aint cuttin it for this kid anymore.....Let em have their world, I got mine and it's a nicer place to be......

Anyhoooo. I met a guy a while back who does pretty well with hydroponic lettuce, and herbs...He makes a good living and gets to interact with plants and nature all day every day.... Kinda my inspiration in this endeavor...

In any case enough stoned ( I'm toasted) babble.......... Any of you have any experience with strawberries indoors...If so what varieties?....How many punnets per plant were your averages?

I am thinking of running a sealed room with coco/earth worm castings beds and maybe 6-8 plants. I will more than likely use an old 400 watt hps in the room that will be well ventilated and exhausted. As far as varieties, I am looking at everbearing types like, Fort Larimie, Quinalt, and Seascapes... Sweet Charlies and Caramosa's might be something to give a try down the road.....

Any and all feedback is welcomed...

right on. I think that is a great idea. I definatly plan to do something similar when i have the space. I really want to learn about all plants and growth patterns and cycles. Good luck and send some my way haha.

i got some growing under a 150 hps NGB grow box in a modified folger coffee can hempy bucket with gh 3 parts for nutes does any on know what light schedule make these baby flower? they have been out side since late summer and since i seen no flowers since summer i take it if i give her 18/6 would make it go into flowing mode am i right ?

From what I have come to know your flowering really depends on variety....

Everbearing or short day, day neautral , and seasonal are the varieties I am familiar with. There are probably 10 or more types or strains if you will in each of these categories....

all i know its a fresa tennessee beauty and i took a runner and put in a home made hmpybucket and been out side intill today and no flowers since early summer

I have put the MF outside in the yard b/c it's good temps for them now. So now I have a 4x2x4h Tick sogcab empty with a 400w cmh.

Im wanting to grow somthing that I can make some $$ on the side that is legal. I was thinking of echinacea roots on a large flood and drain set up. But Stawberries would be awsome! I would want to do them vertically though.

Basicly I want to utilize the wall and maybe the floor to grow them with the light hanging horizontaly in the center. This would give me 2x4 feet TWICE (each side wall) plus the floor space left would be about 3x2. I could potentaly make good if I flooded that space with berry plant.

Need to get on it. Where do we get crowns grown in soiless medium?
I would want runners so I can propagate more plants too... Which varieties make runners. PRODUCTION is a must.

Oh man, new projects always get me pumped.
