Had this discussion the other night.

In my 30 odd years of hard core potato chip eating (crisps, I have had the British kinds too). I have found only one flavour that consistently tastes as it should

Salt and Vinegar

Not including Doritos, as they make up their own flavours. Anyone else find one that tastes like it should? If everything tastes like chicken, why cant they make a chip that tastes like chicken. I am not sure what it is they taste like now, but that is not chicken

have ya ever heard of Mrs. Vicki's? they all taste pretty much the way the should..like the jalapeno taste right..white cheder...sea salt and vinegar..and so on..yummy

90% of chips dont taste anything close to what labeled, I think we should all thank Monosodium Glutamate. MSG. Colorless, odorless sodium packed "flavor". Dehydrating you and leaving you with a wicked headache.
Why sea salt and vinegar? Acid and salt are two of the most identifiable tastes by the palate. Salt and Vinegar are two ingredients that can be kept in their natural state without having a questionable shelf life. Inspiration from our friends across the pond who take a second to think about what they are stuffing in their traps we get quality product. Simple crisp potato slice packed with REAL flavors. Ever wonder what kind of chemistry set it takes to make A flavor profile like "DORITOS Collisions Zesty Taco and Chipotle Ranch Flavored Tortilla Chips"

i've never had chips that taste like chicken before. Personally i am a fan of lays original wavy chips..only ingredients are potatos, oil and salt. Another kind of chips i really like are Sun Chips....love em.

kettle brand has many flavors and theyre all good
also mrs. vicki's , zapp's, cape cod, and cheetos (does cheetos count?) LOL

I really don't think anything other than salt and vinegar tastes like it should

Even ketchup, although close, does not taste like ketchup.
Sour cream and onion, again close, but tastes nothing like eating the top of a baked potato

I have had Mrs Vicki's and loads of kettle chips, and they taste good, but they do not taste as they claim. Tastes like Roast Chicken and the sort are a joke, and give me heartburn.

My favorite chip would easily be just plain tortillia chips with some sort of salsa to dip in, but in a hurry or lack of salsa will push me towards Jalapeno chips
