Talking Bog Seeds - Bogbubble

Breeder: BOG Seeds
Strain: Bogbubble
Flowering time: Done in 45

Initial thoughts:

These buds were grown under 400 watt hortilux lamp, in DWC with pure blend pro, liquid kharma, and calmag. They appear to be very crystally, and are covered in very dark red/brown hairs. I let this one go about a week extra in order to let the crystals cloud up a big more, and by the feeling of the first smoke, it was well worth the wait. ~50 days total flower. they were flushed using clear-ex for 5 days, and had a final 48 hour dark cycle before being harvested.

Smell:

Although it is not completely dry yet, the smell is very much similar to BO. Very pungent with a slight citrus smell to it. I have never seen anything that smelled quite like this bogbubble. During the grow smell was not an issue with the Bogbubble as a Serious Seeds - AK47 was growing right next to it. I would imagine if you grow this strain in a small cabinet or similar you shouldn't have any problems with odor as long as you use at least some form of odor control be it ONA, carbon or ozone. After the plant was chopped, the fragrance was over wellming (sp?). I kid you not when i say it smells like straight BO. Not in a bad way, but that is just the only thing that it smells like. Very nice indeed.

Taste:

Rolled up a joint last night, and the taste was quite good for only been drying for 3 days. The buds are still a little damp, but put a few under a lamp for a few hours, and they dried enough to grind them up and roll a jay. The taste was not harsh, and very pleasing for not having been properly dried and cured yet. I will edit this post upon completion of the cure so that you can know how it is after a proper cure. I will not make a statement about the flavor until the buds are cured.

Potency:

Very high. I am an extremely heavy smoker, and it takes some good shit to really impress me. Mr. BOG has done it. I rolled up a joint with 1.2 grams of bud, and smoked it. About 3/4 the way through I felt the rush come, and it was quite euphoric. I am very impressed with the potency of the buds, and the amount of crystals that this strain produced. It is top quality.

I also made some hash using a canning jar, some shake, and a coffee filter. I yielded about 1/4 gram of very fine blond colored hash that was of the utmost potency. Despite this cave man way of water extraction, I was very impressed with the yield from the shake. Out of maybe 4 dried grams of crappy shake was used. It was not trim from the buds, but just fan leaves that were taken during the course of the grow.

Yield:

The plant grew with about 10 main branches, that all produced a good size cola. The plants were not taken care of well for 3 weeks while I was on vacation early in flowering, so they were in quite bad shape when I returned. Despite my best effort, this caused the yield to suffer, aswell as the quality of the finished product. I am revegging currently to give it another shot, and have some more bogbubble beans to use later aswell. I was impressed with the yield despite the conditions. Next grow I would estimate that 1 plant under a 400 with a SCROG or other training (i use LST) would easily yield 8 to 12 oz in my opinion.

Final thoughts:

I am very pleased with Bogbubble from BOG Seeds, and will continue to be a loyal customer of his. These genetics are top notch, and that is why I highly recommend you give Bogbubble a try if you haven't before, its quite impressive.

Most definately one of my favs. You are right bout the lack of odor in Flower very stealth. I didn't have a BO smell with mine tho. Again you are correct with the smell after chop, these gals will stink alot while drying.

Smokey you are right don't know why we don't have more reports on BogBubble. I guess I could get off my laurels and make one myself since I grew it for bout 3 years.

Mo,

I appreciate this report and it seems accurate despite a smell variation. The truth is that Bogbubble and Lifesaver are my best sellers over a long period and I prefer the bogbubble. The high is super happy and it isn't too couchy to do things and have a good time on. Recently Greg Green commented on bubblegums being good socializing weed and he mentiones my variations in the recent issue of Heads. BOG

She should cure up nicely for you Super Toker and she does creep a bit doesn't she?

I have some young bogbubbles, from seed, in veg at about 3 weeks now...

I always love growing them...

Thanks for dropping by BOG. Yes, it does creep quite a bit. You've never had a pheno that smelled like this before?

To add some reading material for yer all's here's my BogBubble strainguide review.

Overall Rating 9
Potency 9.5
Yield 7
Ease 10
Appearance 7
Odor 7
Taste 9
Growers Tilt 9
SI rating

One pack produced 10 plants. 7 females and 3 males. Two seeds were twins of each sex.

A pack of BOG's bubble does provide a range of phenotypes. I observed these phenos -

Skunky, Bubblegum, Bubblegum/Coconut/Floral, Spicy, Skunk/Floral.

Of the males 1 was an early flowering skunk, and the other two more sativa.

Of the 7 females - Spicy (1), Bubblegum (1), Bubble Coconut/Floral (1)Skunky (2), Nowhere - some Skunk w/ Floral (1). Description : The Spicy and the Bubblegum have least leaf. The Nowhere had bland bubble taste with darker Skunk resin and was leafy, the Skunks were stinky sweet.

Odor - A delicious stealthy floral that attracts. The Skunk pheno smells the most at about 8.5 with typical dank smell. The Bubblegum pheno is the least odorous (6) with a stealthy odor that minimal control or gross air throughput will counter. The Spicy pheno has a medium odor of 7 and may require odor control depending on your circumstances.

Structure and Shape - the Spice pheno and Bubblegum both develop lots of side branches. The shade leaves are massive. If generated with enough light both plants grow up as a ball and at night they resemble a chinaman's hat in shape – grand protection during cold nights. My Spice pheno has the strongest branches but the Bubblegum is a little floppy requiring a screen.

Yield - my biggest yielder is the Spice pheno - with effort competent growers could get .85g/w, my best is .75g/w but the last three crops I got exactly .5g/w of lightly manicured bud in 7.5 weeks low intensity SOG. The end product does not weigh strongly but upper bud is full calyx and weighs well. Lower weight is due to the leaves not being heavy - the upside is that a greater proportion of a bud’s weight is resin.

Appearance – It has great structure and excellent side branching. It reaches a certain height and then just widens. The Bubble does develop resin early and comprehensively. With quite heavy lower pruning my two mothers yield consisted of 1/3 full calyx bud and 2/3 resin encrusted calyx and leaf under 40w/ft.

Potency/Taste - The lower calyx to leaf is well countered by the excellent taste and potency. Amongst commercial strains this is definitely a connoisoir product IMO and I've received plenty of compliments - even for leafy samples.

Ease - I have no hesistation in given it a 10. Mainly due to minimal stretch 50 - 75% (maybe double depending on your methods) and quick flowering. It is resistant to mold - partly because it crops at 6 to 7.5 weeks. The roots are very extensive and the plant vigorous. The branches are quite strong. Mother plants stay in growth mode and aren't 'hanging' in pre-flower. Clone mothers come back full and healthy - excellent.

This variety would produce more textbook bud under 70w/ft.

Conclusion - Certainly a great plant that produces quality bud very quickly and very easily.

Nice write up.. I have 2 bogs at about day 45 right now.. just started flushing yesterday for a cut next weekend.

this is my first, so I am still not up on pheno's and such, but they both smell grapefruit/citrus/candy and the trich's look amazing. I didnt top them, just soil from seed under a 400w (early days were flouro) and one of them is a double header.

Two plants, one in the back is a double cola!
