Help With Blueberry Skunk
I realize that this is not a strain that is grown much but I thought that folks who have grown Flying Dutchman and/or are familiar with the genetics can help.
I'm growing the plant with several other different strains in a 14 hole tray that sits on a DWC reservoir. If I could do it differently, I would. Oh well, next time. All of the other strains are thriving. However the Blueberry Skunk is either suffering from some deficiency or from nute burn. A little more information. After I first germed the seeds, I mistakenly starved them. I think they all had several deficiencies. I was using Pure Blend Pro Grow and Liquid Karma...in my concern about "burning" them, I fed them too little. They've all recovered nicely when I stepped up the feeding (feeding at first by hand due to the weak res nute solution)...I should add that I didn't go overboard but did step up the nutes to a more moderate percentage. Currently, my PPM is about 900. The Blueberry Skunk, which in some ways is the most developed of the plants, however, has leaves which are curving under from the tips and an almost bright orange mosaic on some of the older leaves. The roots seem ok and the growth seems fine but I find the spotting on the leaves to be concerning. I tried backing off and diluting the nute strength but that doesn't look like it has helped. I should add that when I first started feeding them by hand (I don't anymore by the way), I was giving them some Cal Mag. I have cut that out, currently, because I'm using city tapwater and I'm assuming between the water and the PBP, there should be a sufficiency. Perhaps, I'm wrong. So my conundrum is that the other plants sharing the nutes seem to be doing quite well...And I don't want to do anything to the res solution that will disrupt them. The Blueberry Skunk, however, is either still starved for something or burning (which would be a surprise because the nute amounts are still quite moderate - but what do I know?) So, I'm wondering whether folks have suggestions or some knowledge about the genetics. If so, maybe you could tell me whether I should expect this type of plant to be nute hungry? Nute finicky? I realize that I don't have a photo (which would help but I don't have a digital camera currently). Anyhow...thanks so much!!! |
