Scuffing seeds - Grindhouse SB

I believe that I have read a recommendation to scuff up seeds from the SB BX1 offering from Grindhouse.

I'm about to pop 11 and want to make sure I give them the best foot forward. I have not historically scuffed my seeds so I was looking to see if this was true and maybe a little insight into the the exact technique used.

Thanks in advance.

All these blue sonja/sb/dmt pictures are getting me ancy!

Darkhollo , scuffing tha Sour/DMT is best , due to their hard shells . Many folks line a match box with sandpaper , some just sand 'em by hand , and others will use a razor blade and take off tha ridge . It don't take much so go easy with 'em ! Our Sour Bubble have an exceptionally high ratio of twins as well , so you may just get 12 or 13 outta yer 11 beans . Look forward to seeing tha grow ....

Stay safe an' grow HARD ,

hey there Darkhollo, yeah you got to scuff the SB real tough shell,Steele told me this germ method and it has work real well, now everytime i germ a seed they have poped every time for me now. heres what i do.

first scuff it a were the seed cracks, then i put seed in glass of water to til they sink which could be in a few hours to 24 hours after they sink i get a plate put moist paper towel on it then the seed another put moist paper towel over seed and cover with another plate a place it semi warm area ya should see tails in the next day or two, i know there is few different ways peeps do it,but this works real well for me.

Thanks for the tips. I just can't wait to pop these.

I have some issues to clear up before I can pop.. just wanted to get all my ducks in a row.

How is SB on stank? My main issues on my last run (SD IBL) were smell. NOTHING seemed to be able to abate the stench.

*drool*

Steel : I haven't started yet, trying to get my AC square away.. My intake is too small or the unit has some issue. My vortex exhaust is sucking cold air out through the back (odor with it and cold air). I never got my temps very low at night (68-70) and 75 during the day. So it wasn't horrible but I think it hurt my outcome. It was SD IBL, DP Blueberry and Nirvanan White Widow. I'm going for one strain this time.. too hard fight defs. on a single strain with the others are plum happy.

Last grow was a bit scary due to smell. I need that solved before I pop anything. I'm hoping for week 3 of november. I will post some pix.

After a breeder friend recommended, I began scuffing the seed edge with surprising results. My germination rates definitely went UP. Tedious, yes. But well worth the trouble.
