Zamal - Gerrit's selected cut
High all!
Gerrit, i'd like to thank you again for share this marvelous clone. We grew 3-4 meter zamals outdoors 5-6 years ago, sadly we couldnt keep clones and preserve the strain. Zamal line mostly produces females, males are rare and usually hermie. I was seriously impressed with zamal vegetative vigour, branching and psychedelic effect. Zamal outdoors in a warm climate is a beast that can easily reach 4 meters, she is so bushy and branchy that you can not see the stems! The ones we grew didnt had any special taste or aroma, taste was very woody, not especially pleasant or desirable. Now im experiencing your selected mother i can understand her quality and importance. Your zamal mother smells like carrots and night summer flowers, resin production is real good for a pure sativa. The zamals we experienced in the past hadn't got any desirable taste or resin production. Your zamal mother shows the auto flowering trait, commoun trait in other african sativa lines like malawi, ethiopian, angolese etc ... Indoors is almost impossible to keep her in good vegetative state, even under 24/0 and strong HPS lights she keeps flowering and flowering. I moved one clone outdoors at late srping/early summer, i was expecting that our strong summer sun would stimulate her to veg correctly, at least for a few weeks so she could reach desirable size and structure. But we havd a very cloudy start of summer, and she didnt receive much light so she keep flowering and flowering outdoors too. Strong sun of mid summer and a new big pot finally stimulated her a little bit to veg. Here are some pics of the outdoor clone at mid October, lower auto flowered buds are maturing but upper colas are still blooming and developing. Last edited by dubi; 10-17-2008 at 11:38 AM.. |

High Maffe
Gypsy's Zamal seeds are quite old right now, growers are not having good germination rates now so start them as soon as possible. Good luck! |

oh Ace you have here a pretty princess.
I have my Zamal line from private import ( I'm french and zamal is french YES !!! lol ) and I love some quality of the zamal ( not all ..some high are too much wild without euphoria for me ) Your zamal is very very beatifull by the fact that it look like the best phenos I have. If you authorize me Dubi I 'll put some pics of mines ont this thread. Actually I have one in bloom looking near like yours. for me zamal looke like hawaïan snow in a little way and the pineapple smell is strong and delicious. actually I have some hybrids zamal on flowering process and I can post pics for enjoying. I cross my zamal with Nl#5 Haze x White Russian hubrid F1 and Neville Haze F1 Now it meet Diesel white and zamal is very promizing... |

The Zamal that Gerrit has ....was gifted to him in seed form by myself many years ago...
I aquired the seeds from a French grower/breeder on La Reuinion island in the Indian Ocean called Christophe... (I thought that you might want to know the history)... It is a very fine sativa and Gerrit has really done alot with the variety....some of which I have sampled to my delight!! Thanks Gerrit!! *Great pics and description Dubi!!

Great to see Zamal still around as a cut, my treasured mother was lost because she refused to stay in veg after 2 years, I was so sad to lose her.
