Any1 grow BB fems w/o hermies?
I have heard that the majority of people who grew the BlueBerry fems out had hermies no matter what they did. I was really thinking about getting a pack of these, but not if they are gonna be a full pack of cross dressers. Would like to hear if anyone has grown these out and not had this happen w/ theirs. I have heard similar things about other BB fems as well. Maybe something w/ the strain that it can not be selfed and produced stable stock? Is this the reason MDanzig has fem'ed BB beans? Perhaps a hermie gone wild? Perhaps w/ the unexpected beans...turned a half empty cup into a half full one? Lets hear about it folks...

I made femmed BB seeds for a reason. This wasnt a mistake. One lone large Female was stressed using light stress. A lot of reasons can cause Herms. It could be the growers fault as well. Also popping up here claiming I did this to turn a half empty glass into a full one, is ludicrous. Did you ever look to see what type of genetics I work with? The Blueberry used is the same one in the making of Bluestreak. I made these seeds to give people a taste of the mother used in the Bluestreak cross I made.

I pulled 3 outdoor Blueberry Femmes recently. One died in the drought, one was a mutant in flower and yeilded poorly, another was average- dried grapey smelling buds- very sativa leaning, and the last was fantastic, big golf ball buds sticky, fruity, musky, berry yummy-ness...
There were no herms outdoors and these plants were stressed believe me. I've been over them with 4x Optivisors on- picking ragweed seed and checking for bugs before I jar them- didn't see any male flowers... I did hit the big one with some BB pollen, so whether pollinating them prevents herming is still in debate... I would be all over these if I were looking for more Blueberry seeds and would definately select these over DP's BB imposter... These seeds throw very interesting, vigorous phenos... And you get 10 females for $75- reasonable pricing... Pulverized dolomitic lime in the soil, don't let it get rootbound, light nutes, longer veg time, slow transition to flower- I'd say intermediate grow skills required like all Blueberry- avoiding stress... And then, just in case, don't grow these next to your heirloom cuts and selected mother plants. A few male flowers doesn't always spell ruin! |

I grew a few of these indoors, and there was not one hermie flower whatsoever.
of five plants, none were really the same, which actually surprised me, in a good way. Variety in bud shapes, density and even scent. One started to bud, then shot out little branches with little buds like cotton balls on the ends of the branches. The others were more of "what you'd expect". All were good smoking. The dark blue-green leaves were gorgeous. I still have two outdoors, but when I checked them almost three weeks ago, there weren't ANY flowers. I live at about 54 degrees north, so that could be the problem. |
