AK-47 & HDF Side By Side Bio-Bucket Style!!!

Ok friends, BigToke is very very excited about this grow!! Just like the title says; AK-47 & HDF back-to-back, as you know my Bio-Bucket System only has one reservoir, so it will be interesting to see if both will feed at the same ppm level or as close as possible, that will be a challenge I do believe, but Oh how I love a challenge!! But if nothing else I’m sure to be in for quite a few more surprises than the usual……something like a rollercoaster rid!!! So everybody that likes to follow along with the Bio-Buckets, “buckle-up and hang-on!!!”

Well let’s get a few things out of the way first of all and get down to business, this is the method that I used to germinate my babies:

I got one saucer from the kitchen.
And one peace of paper towel, I sock the towel in Distilled Water and drip off the excess and lay the towel in the saucer.
And covered it with a clear piece of saran wrap and lay it on top of my computer monitor, usually takes about two to three days to sprout.
After they sprout I put Miracle Grow Potting Soil, in a tray with a humidity dome and a heated bottom, it’s a mini-green-house. And it should be noted; that when BigToke is dealing with young seedlings or cuttings in soil, I always microwave my soil first!! This is a safe-grade and prevention against: spider-mites, knit larvae, and unknown fungi & bacteria form destroying your babies, this will also burst all of those little tiny nutrient rich fertilizer balls that’s in the soil.
I leave them in there till there about 3” to 4” tall.
Then I transfer them over into a clear cup size container, that way I can see the development of the roots take place. Also it should be noted; that if you place your young sprout lings in to big of a container, that tap-root will have to much vertical growth and will cause the plants inter-nodes to be “to spacey.”
I don’t cover all of the seedlings soft stalk, I only cover the roots and about one inch of the stalk, I don’t like to cover the stalk all at once as I’m afraid that I will get stem rot.
Be careful when taking them out of the heated humid dome and placing them in a cup because some times they will just fall over and dry up and we don’t want that!! So take another little clear cup and cover the top of the seedling and remove it a couple hours a day until the seedling doesn’t need it any more, usually about two to three days.
After the seedling has hardened up a little bit, then you can go ahead and safely cover it the rest of the way up, only cover your seedlings up about two inch’s from the top of your plant.

Now let’s talk about something that I’m a little concerned about, and that’s germination rates:

The Heavy Duty Fruity pack of seeds that came from {THSeeds}and had ten in a pack the germination rate was 99% WOW!!
On the other hand the AK-47 pack of seeds that came from {Serious Seeds}and had sixteen in a pack and a germination rate was 50% POOR!!

So let me say something; I am not dissatisfied with the quality of service that I received from SD, but I am more than a little disappointed in the germination rates of the AK-47’s that I received from Serious Seeds, well I hope this doesn’t sound like crying to you because it’s not, and besides that that’s the way it goes some times, but it would have been nice to have got a little more out of what I paid for. but there is this fellow that I keep hearing about who’s called Gypsy, any body ever heard of Him? Well He sent me a FREE pack of skunk#1 seeds with my order that made me very happy!! So that kind of made up for the loss.

Well anyway this will be my first grow/thread that I have started from seed, so it’s going to last a little be longer than I’m use to but that’s alright.

Like ur germing methods m8....they really look good n healty. Ill be watching this one, I may like to attempt a smaller bio bucket thing..do u think a bubbler tub for 2 plants could work m8?? or not?

Thankyou for sharing that info on transporting and nursing seedlings , with the seed prices today ,thats the kind of care i can learn from... look forward to AK47 , i just received my beans... Ill be watching....
Whenever you transport you spouts ,do you handle them with tizzers, why do you transport the spouts 2 times ,couldnt that invoke shoke?

After they’ve grown out a little bit and you can see lot’s of white roots all around the clear cup that there in; I then take them and do another transplant into a bigger pot and all the wail I keep covering up that soft stem at the bottom, so here’s the process that I do.

I take took each one of the AK-47’s & HDF plants and turned them upside down, and squeezed the bottom of the clear up and they just pop out!! After that I put a little soil in the bottom of the new pot about 2” and then transplant, after they are placed in the new pots I then cover them the rest of the way up with fresh soil……..they will stay there until it’s time to transplant again which is any time now.

Don't worry about me bt, i am definately not going anywhere. Sometimes it may be a couple of days before i check in but i'm definately here to stay. I have been so busy as of late, with getting things together plus work, o', and don't forget, spring break is just starting down here in fla, so we get all of the hotties from around the country looking to get drunk and chill, if you know what i mean? The past couple of weeks the weather has been so beautiful, beach weather, while mostly the rest of the country is in the snow, it makes me realize why i moved down here and will never move again. This week has been shitty but they say after the weekend we will be back to sun and fun, just in time for the full blast of spring break, damn, i can't wait, holla.
