Limonene legality

This actually sounds quite interesting. What about the terps? Could they be collected via short path in the first stage and then added back after? How are the water and extract separated after limonene evaporation?
I was considering running water through the material before adding the limonene to extract with and take that water which would have absorbed some terpenes and distill it to collect the terpenes.. the water and limonene evaporate together in a vacuum distillation set up such as a rotovap, water is continually added to the limonene concentrate in the rotovap until there is no limonene left and then the last of the water is evaporated at the end.. can also be further dried in a vacuum oven once removed from the flask.. Adding the water as a first step could also saturate the plant matter allowing less solvent to be lost to the material.

don't matter anyway, it's considered an extraction in oregon and illegal.

no rec users or ommp users can make or sell extracts concentrates hash bubble hash etc unless licensed as a processor...like I am.

read the laws. welcome to the new world.

This question was directed at the laws which concern licensed recreational processing, and if limonene hash oil and processing would be considered an extract or a concentrate.. on one hand it is a safer solvent like ethanol on the other hand it is technically a hydrocarbon also. Limonene itself could be considered a "vegetable oil" it could also be considered a hydrocarbon, but it would make more sense grouping it with ethanol and vegetable oils than it would to group it with butane, hexane or propane. As you may know the designation whether a process and product are a concentrate or an extraction changes what laws and what level of guidelines need to be met in certain areas, c1d1 vs c1d2 compliance etc..

Also concentrates such as hash, bubble hash, kief, rosin etc are completely legal to be made for personal and medicinal use.

What would be the benefits of using this as a solvent? It appears to have a boiling point of 176C (349F), which is much higher than alcohol. Unless you buy a 55 gallon drum, it also seems to be anywhere from 4x-10x the price of ethanol as well. What are you trying to do?

the boiling point is lowered to 200F when being distilled along with water which makes the temperatures feasible when using vacuum distillation could theoretically be distilled at room temperature.

I've done some Limonene extractions and love it for its ability to dissolve. Just make sure to grab your terps before you extract because they will all end up in the recovered limonene when you distill it as an azeotrope.
