3000W of COBS 8x8 with ethos collective and exotic genetix

as of right now my ladies are under HID. my heatsinks get here tuesday and then i can complete the builds. the SOG table will have 1200w over it with 32 citi 1212's pushing 37.5W each in 3000k. the table itself is about 3.5x7.5 ish. the other half of the room will have 1600w of CXM22's at 50W each at 3000k and one per sq/ft.

everything is powered by a whole lot of hlg185s(16 total)

the ladies are killing it right now and looking fantastic. all trimmed up underneath and ready to put out high quality tops only. this is a test run of genetics from seed so i have no idea how they are gonna turn out. i have ethos collective blackfire(WIFI x afghan) and exotic genetix future(GG4 x starfighter f2) as well as one exotic genetix batch 45 that was a freebie and they have given absolutely no info on.

these are at about day 25 of ~60 at the moment and starting to fill in nicely. the blackfire monsters in the back look like they are gonna build foot long colas and lots of them. hashy pinesol flavors from the blackfire and yogurty melon smells from the future.

the real test for these lights will be when i rerun my chem d cookies and see how they do compared to the HID run. i cant wait!

the cobs, thermal paste and holders i get from cobkits.com
the heatsinks are from northerngrowlights.com
the metal i buy local from a metal/welding supply(way cheaper than lowes or HD)
18g solid wire from lowes
wago connectors from amazon

Them 1212's are great for the price aren't they? I've got over 100 at about 5kw. I use the hlg-320-36a's though to power mine, I run one per set of 8 cobs run in parallel and get about 380+ watts out of each driver.

the batch 45 is looking good so far. only one female out of the 3. main cola dominant structure. i'll get a close up of that one for you tonight.

the 1212s are great for the price. if you are gonna run them soft there is no real reason to use the bigger chips. at the power i run them at they are just as efficient as all the other ones out(around 140 lm per watt or so)

ok, ive got one rack mounted up and ready for wiring! i have to leave for work soon but i will try and finish up the frames and mounting tonight. i probably wont get to the wiring and stuff tonight as its taking me much longer that expected to apply the thermal paste, mount the cobs to the heatsinks, line up the heatsink template, drill the holes RIGHT and then mount them up. long tedious processes lol. its all good. im focused and ready to bang it out!

thank god i finally finished one lol. it was a nightmare to hang that thing with plants underneath it. it weighs about 40 lbs so it was a bit scary to maneuver into place!

this would be 10X easier to wire up if it was constant current rather than constant voltage. i could have wired in series and saved a shit ton of wago connectors but since they are constant voltage i have to run them in parallel so i have a shit ton of connection points. took FOREVER! next time i will do the constant current for sure lol

i turned them down to right at 200w coming out of each driver so im sitting at ~800. with them cranked all the way this panel would have been at 1000W! i guess these hlg's are really under rated on output.

i have to get up early tomorrow so i can work on the SOG panels. those bitches are ready for their new lights and to be spread out!

Cool man, your running yours at almost exactly what I'm running mine at. It took me forever to wire mine up because I had to solder every cob and I also used thermal adhesive because it wasn't possible for me to drill and tap the active heat sinks I had used...

LOL it took me forever though, I drilled like a million little holes and used zipties, after doing a few of them I finally got a system down to where I can build one in about a day haha

almost done with the next one and i have the COBs/heatsinks mounted to the frame on the third array, as well as the wire precut to length and stripped. should smoothen things out a little bit i hope. i have to go to work so i probably wont finish both tonight. lucky if i finish the one lol

as soon as these two citi 1212 arrays are done the SOGlings will get spread out over the 3.5x7 table and blasted with 1200W of COBs. just my removing my aircooled 1k and replacing with 800w of COBs my temps are down 8 degrees!! happy as can be so far. lets see how they yield though :)

my goal is to move back to PPKs with LED and see what happens

mine is around 800 to do a 4x4-5x5. i can crank this bitch all the way to 1000W but im keeping her at 800w for now

Awesome setup's guys, If you guys don't mind what does it cost to put those together?

Total cost for mine is roughly $525-$550 slightly under 800 watts and covers a 4x4. I bought everything in bulk so I saved a decent amount of money on the heat sinks and drivers...
