"Rock Budder"

Here in Denver there is a dispensary called River Rock. They make BHO and they call it rock budder. It's unlike any other bho that I've ever seen and it's definitely the best I've ever had as well. It is a powder until it gets heated up to around room temp, then it turns into shatter. I dont have very much information on how it is made but a person who works there did say this. This is from the mouth of the owner "We use an all cold process, and NO HEAT or direct contact with light. The BHO is pressurized out at fast rates turning the final product into a pure fine powder similar to testing components. The oil is put thru another process for 3 days and than cured. "
The consistency of this sand like powder is much better than shatter in my opinion, you just heat up a dabber and dip it in some powder or you can put this stuff on top of a bowl much easier.

Any ideas of the process or any insight on this stuff?

You can see in a couple of the pics Ive posted where there's little beads of shatter where it got a little warm and pooled together.

It looks like if you tried to scrape shatter cold and it turned to that flakey dust. They are probably just doing a thin layer purge and scraping cold then keeping it cold to have it remain in that powder.

Just for the record it is possible to make this stuff well purged, some shatter can be smashed up into powder like this, but to find material that yields those results is super rare, so people just used crapp purged shatter usually :p

Budder, honeycomb, shatter, gold dust / powder, its all just oil.

It would be interesting to test that and see the contaminants, most BHO contains a considerable amount of butane, that might be minimal.

This is how some of my first solvent extractions many years ago came out. I was doing really cold quick washes with 96% Isopropanol, purge untill it was rock hard glass, let it cool at room temp then try to scrape it up, shit would fly everywhere. LOL but looks just like gold dust/shards, would melt easily back into shatter like whats happeneing here with a little bit of heat.

Probably my least favorite consistency for dabbing.

Okay peeps, wanted to bust out this info on BHO Johnson's FB account, but I'll try to share it with my icmag friends first. I feel what he's doing is spraying a fine mist of of the butane/oil into a rotating vacuum drum while it's under absolute vacuum. Similar to how they make coffee creamer ... what do yawl think???

How would you blast into rotating vacuum drum under absolute vacuum? Thin film purged shatter, scrapped up after its cooled causing it come up as flakey dust. This isn't hard to make at all.

To those trying to figure out how to make shatter consistency / texture, its literally starting material that produces these features, spraying onto a spinning vaccum drum wont make shatter more then a normal spray and purge.

If you want better results use hole nug / popcorn nug and do not break up the material finely, stuff your tube with all your might etc etc

I have been fauckin round a bit lately and noticed that temp has to be right , that is key for vacuum chamber to function properly , oil must be kept viscious to purge out solvents,....

Indeed, some material will yield such a stable hard product that heating must be consistent throughout vac purge. I would just rep you but I am not allowed.

The agr of the material will effect it aswell. Really old trim will produce great sedative errrl but the older it is the less stable it will be. My buddy blasted some 6-8 month old casey trim and it was like slime combined with those candy orange wedges. Not even viagra would make it hard.

From what I have read on riverrocks fb, they use no heat, use negative pressure(deep vacuum) and positive pressure to get it into this consistency.

Not sure why they use names like rockbudder or compound though.
