I forgot rich people are evil, so of course they should pay 90% of all taxes.

Just because rates and loopholes are different doesn't mean that people who aren't rich should be free of all responsibility .

i just laid out why they should. half the working US population makes 5 or 6k more than the poverty line. of course the people generating most of the new income in the US are taxed at a higher rate and make up a larger share of tax revenue.

Just because rates and loopholes are different doesn't mean that people who aren't rich should be free of all responsibility .

no, that's just what US libertarianism is. it masquerades as a free market ideology but it was really created by austrian economists, fascists, and us corporations. go ahead and look into the history of the modern US right wing libertarian movement.

I am okay with people making less than 50k a year not paying taxes. I don't think it's right per say, but I don't want people destitute.

Yeah the capitalist system you hate has halved the global poverty rate. I find it extremely selfish, to say that because some people are extremely rich, we shouldn't have had those gains.

I believe in individual responsibility, and individual liberty. You believe it's okay to target the rich, to prop up the poor (supposedly).

We are never going to agree on those things. I believe individuals are responsible for their lives and their successes. You believe society is responsible for making people comfortable. These are fundamental differences, they will never co-exist.

Neither you or anyone else will ever convince me that I am responsible for someone else's failures.

Your math is off again: guess who’s paying the taxes now that the rich aren’t paying them (you *do* remember the big Trump “tax cut”, right?)

The generationally and criminally wealthy have already paid for those “rates and loopholes”, and any politician who tries to roll them back will find BIG bux paying for their opponent in the next election.

loopholes and tax rates are two different things. we can close loopholes and still have a progressive taxation system. 50% of US workers make $30k or less per year, over half of US workers make $75k or less per year. a 20% flat tax would disproportionately effect working people negatively, while also not adequately funding the federal government properly due to loss of tax revenue. it's the libertarian fascist wet dream.

Then cut ALL the loopholes that are supported by DEMOCRATS. Remember wall street gives money to Democrats.

The money never belonged, and was never created by the government. So no, the poor aren't paying money to the rich.

Theirs no math required for people to keep the money they earned through VOLUNTARY TRANSACTIONS. The government uses the threat of force, to TAKE said money.

Tuition free public college can be paid with a financial transaction tax on wall street speculators. It's currently being called the Robin Hood Tax. It'd cost pennies per every dollar traded and not affect most of the US.

"Free" Healthcare is taxpayer funded public healthcare that would cover every American citizen, and is more cost effective for the average person and employers.

Yeah man. Taxes. How about we legalize weed nationally and tax the shit into the dirt to pay for all the programs you socialists want. Oh snap!! Guys like you think there should be NO taxes on weed. IF you had to pay for all this shit the socialists want you might rethink it.

Maybe, we should gather all of those who ideologically oppose each other so hatefully into a single place, something like a dome perhaps. After they're all gathered, they can then fight it out until no ones left, then those who didn't attend can get on with their lives and rebuild society in a new way.
