Wow Bud, that yield looks huge for a 3X3 400w grow! nice job, they're much happier with the cooler temps.

Here are a few pictures of the Cotton Candy buds and some Rosin made from it:

Great job Bud!!! That Cotton Candy looks amazing!!!

If all goes well, I'm going to be opening a grow supplies/hydro store in North East MA next month. I can let you know the name and location once I'm up and running if your interested. I'm looking forward to meeting many more like minded people in the near future.

Thanks Super, good luck opening up a hydroponic shop. There are currently 10 shops open in MA that I know of and more and more are opening. I have a shop that I've gone to for years already and a new one just opened right down the street from my house so they are popping up everywhere.

let us know, I'd love to check it out, I'm on the North Shore. I'd love to see a place that stocks a good selection professional soil mix, right now I drive to Tewksbury to get it.

Well folks, it's been a busy few months for me but I am still getting stuff done.
I made BHO with my last grow of the Ron Berry and Critical Jack. They both came out great but the Ron Berry is Indica and knocks me out so I've been using strickly Critical Jack during the day.

I wanted to try my hand at hydro again so I'm doing another Cotton Candy grow. I have 4 clones from my previous grow, 1 will be transplanted into a DIY top feed DWC tote, the remaining 3 will stay in soil and I'm using only Medi-One organic nutrient solution.

Here's the DIY tote:

The plants were vegging for a few weeks before I transplanted 1 into the tote.

The plants have come along way in the past month and are now in the first week of 12/12

The stalk of the hydro plant is so thick that I may need to use my sawzall to cut it down

The DIY hydroponic system I am using consists of a 5 gallon bucket with the bottom cut out and many holes drilled in the side of the bucket for water flow. This bucket is then seated in the 27 gallon tote which is basically a large reservoir which contains 6-8 gallons of water, 2 air stones, and a water pump used for top feeding. The water pump is on a timer and is on 15 minutes every hour.

Here is some root porn:

Alright, I got some new photos of the girls that are now in the 2nd week of 12/12.

So many tops on the Hydro plant, I'm in love

The stem on the Hydro plant is ridiculous. This plant is literally lifting my PCV trellis off the ground.

So everything is working out great at this point. These 4 cotton candy plants have about 70 days left in flower and then I need to get some other plants going in my 3x3 as well.

Currently debating whether to use my Cotton Candy clones or some GG#4 x Daybreaker seeds I popped. I'm a big GG#4 advocate but never tried Daybreaker so still on the fence about this.

So the soil and hydro plants on the same schedule? Transplanted the same time? Ive been wanting to try a system like that. You may have just made up my mind. Nice work.

Akss, All 4 plants were clones and are the same "age". I took one of them and transplanted into the hydro setup and you can see the difference in growth. Due to this experiment I plan on doing more hydroponic setups since it seems to be faster veg and easier for me now.

In the beginning soil was insanely easy for me which is why I've stuck to soil for many years. But now that I'm gaining some experience in hydroponics and feel more comfortable, the switch is being made and I'm transitioning my style of growing.

Thanks for the comback.thats impressive.i started out in perlite vermiculite 50/50. Then vermiculite got hard to aquire so i switched to peat perlite 50/50 and shit ton of lime.now on the promix hp which is ok in big containers. but i think growth rates were better in the vermiculite perlite and could use less of it. Used to run fast turn over clones but now im thinking bigger and less plants more better. Keep up the good work looking good.

If you're looking at running a couple really big plants, Hydro is the way to go. It's amazing how huge their trunks can get.

GastroGrower is right, I usually grow large plants in soil but both times I've tried hydroponics the growth rate and size of the trunks/stems were far superior.

I'm going to be setting up a top feed hydroponic system in my 3x3 tent this week. I will have some pics of that setup in here eventually as well.

Happy belated 4/20 everyone! I celebrated by taking a photo shoot with the girls as well as setting up a new top feed hydroponic system.

Here are the Cotton Candy ladies in the 5th week of Flower:

They are looking great and on track to finish late June.

Now here is the new top feed system I'm trying. This is very different from my normal style grows because I personally prefer less/larger plants than more/smaller plants. But this could lower my veg time which would allow me to have more harvests.

This is all DIY
Here are the 6 plants I got going. 2 are Cotton Candy clones, the other 4 were seeds I got that are GG#4 x Daybreaker.

Since this system is smaller scale and the plants won't be as large as my other system, I opted to use a 5 gallon bucket for a res instead of the 27 gallon tote I normally would use.

So as you can see, I got a lot of different things going on at the moment and am constantly changing up my methods.

I'm always open to any comments/questions as well. Till next time!

I love the 5 gallon buckets for smaller setups. So easy to work with and switch out/clean.

The Cotton Candy plants are looking great! What is the pot size on those?

Gastro, the 5 gallon bucket is so much easier to work with than larger reservoirs and takes up much less space as well.

The Cotton Candy plants in soil are in 5 gallon pots.
The ones in the new hydro system are in 1 liter pots (I think).
From the looks of the room in Flower, the hydro plant is already looking to produce at least twice as much as the 3 soil plants. So I think this may be my last soil run for a while and I will see if I can make the switch to all hydro.

Akss, that beast of a plant is doing fantastic. I actually had to use some yoyo's to tie up some branches since the weight of the colas was too much. I will get some new pics up sometime this week. The girls only have about 5-6 weeks left in flower until chop.
