This Tuesday, March 7, the Joint Committee on The Judiciary will hear H. 862, which would replace criminal penalties for the possession of one ounce or less of marijuana with a civil fine of $100. We need you to help push this legislation forward by contacting your state legislators by this Tuesday, March 7th.

We need you to do three crucial things right now.

1.) Please call the committee members today. Each call takes only a moment, but it will make a world of difference. Please call each of them and politely say:

“I urge you to support legislation that will remove criminal penalties for marijuana possession. Please stand up for sensible policy and support Senator Jehlen’s bill, H. 862. Thank you.”

I'm no where near Mass. but, my aunt lives there and shes a judge for immigration naturalization. I outta mention this to her, shes very understanding of my use and most supportive of medicinal value from cannabis. although my understanding is that this is an ounce that is now a criminal offence would be changed to a $100 civil fine. sounds great! thanks for getting the word out to the people. I just hope everyone shows up to there part in achieving a victory for the NE. Peace bro.

Well, as long as someone is posting this...here's an update. Decrim passed by referendum in 2008 and it's been a HUGE success here in Mass. Take a look at the arrest numbers released in the recent ACLU report:

I wouldn't call it a huge success look up marijuana related arrests for the state. The states for profit prisons are still over capacity
