First Grow - Indoor, Coco and NEED HELP!

Greetings!

This thread is a duplicate and i added it here as i hope i can get better answers out of fellow coco growers than the general growing community.
That being said, if its not allowed can Moderators please delete!

I'v been reading on these threads for a while and always wanted to grow but never had the space/ opportunity to set anything worth while up.

However recently things changed.

I now have a secure space and over the last month i'v been setting things up.

I'm growing in Coco, using canna a+b, root nectar, pk heavy, crystalic, and calmag.

I have a 1.2x1.2x2.0m flowering tent with carbon filter/fan 600w light with reflective hood and now tent mount fan. ( not in pics)

I also have a .8x.5x.5 (roughly) seedling tent, with 2x 55Watt fluro's + small computer fan.

I'v also made a Res for my water/ feed with a bubble stone, heater and 35L drum with Tap. I'm not using it yet but once they get bigger i will be.
I'm going to hand water all the way through this grow.

I have some seeds i got online (White widow, northern lights etc) but i'm not running them this time. As this is my first attempt and i'm sure i'm going to make mistakes, regardless of the reading iv done here. (my memory isn't the best)

So i'm running seeds i was given from a mate.
These are his words, "the big ones are Bubblegum somethings and the small ones Pineapple somethings".
So i have 2 bubblegum somethings and 5 Pineapple somethings currently 9 days from putting them into pots after germination (Water then Paper towel method)

They are all going well (i think) and one is going exceptionally well, at least twice as big as all the rest. (front left in the pics)

My questions for anyone who care's to help are;

1. Is the one growing way better than the rest probably going to be a male? or is it just a stong plant? (i read the male thing somewhere online)

2. Also Is the purple stems on the others (not the one twice as big) ok? i know they are young but are they deficient in something maybe?

3. should i be giving them Root nectar or Calmag yet?

4. how often should i be watering?

They get watered 2 x a day with Ph water (spray'd once, watered once) and sit around 20 deg celsius most of the time and 50% humidity.
Even once have dropped to 18deg at night :asskick:
I'm going to try a seedling heat matt and see if that warms things up a bit.

*I didnt pre charge the coco with nutrients either, is this something i should have done?

I'm going to start root Nectar very shortly, probably the next 2 days i think depending on what people here advise.

Any input from anyone would be appreciated!

Cheers and happy growing

Purple stems normal. Feed them every other day, 1ml/l a&b, I use full strength rhizo with mine to. If you used canna out the bag perfect. They look fine, just under fed as they need feed now, I feed mine from day 4-5

Feeding twice a day is too much at moment, wait a week and start daily. After potting up let them root out after first water for extra day or 2

the purp stems is normal bro. they definitely need some nutes now you can start with 1/2 strong or if u worry about it just give 'em 1/4.
in this period im usually just watering once and let the pot dry out, once if they can soak up everything within 2 days im starting to watering daily and after a week with 20-30% runoff.
Best of luck! :tiphat:

Thanks iwantmorebuds and doob for the input!

I went with 1/2 strength as i'm sure they need it badly, now going to wait until a day or 2 and see how they respond and go again.
Fingers crossed

I'll post some pics in a couple of days and let you know how they go.

Cheers

Exactly what was posted above - solid advice.
There are many really useful threads on the coco forums, you've got a lot of reading to do :)
Once they get bigger, multiple feeds is the way to go, just make sure you feed a slightly lower strength solution if you are multiple feeding.
If you are foliar feeding, maybe look into a specific nutrient for that, there are a few choices available.

So i went with 1/2 strength nut's and the ladies loved it.
They have all perked up and the exceptional one has just exploded with growth.
I'm praying it comes out to be female!!

I cut my waterings back to every second or 3rd day depending on the weight of the pot. The bigger one is getting every second day, as it dries out/drinks the quickest.

How far off transplanting into a bigger pot do you think it is?

Also i fixed my heat issue, its now a stable 23deg and 53humidity.

Cheers! :gday:

Do not let coco dry out, it's not like soil. Keep it moist, you can do low strength, multiple feeds, probably about the strength you have now 3 or 4 times a day (multiple feeds, minimal run off at that size).
Looking nice though, lots of love going in there :)

yes, it might be a male, they often are very vigorous compared to females!
yes, half strength is just right! ph 6.4 ec 0.6-0.8 will do, let them search for water so better to wait till they have established 3/4 of the container till you start with multiple waterings.
Before that id up pot to 7 Liters in about a week anyway
try and get the humidity a touch higher with a few more sprayings here and there, but with bigger containers that might do the trick..
looking good though

All going well....

All going well....

Cheers for the input.
I've been giving 1/2 strength every second day for the big one and 3rd for the others but from today ill step those up.
The big one every day and the others every 2 and aim to increase to multiple p/day over the next week as they grow.
Humidity's bouncing from 40-55 over 24hrs, so i guess thats alright for the moment as it includes watering and lights off time.

I have a few questions, The leaves on the big one are kinda turned down so they are sitting on the ones below. That normal?

picture.php

Also one of the smaller ones is kinda twisted and brown on the edges of the leaves... Is it just a weirdo or is something up with it?
