hi

im new here and also im new in dwc.
i would like to inform you, my english are poor so please make easier.

the most i ve read is from this site and i decide to make account
because this site has very good growers in rdwc.

excuse me for mistakes about writing.i learn better english when
my first grow in hydro finished.
so..
i have 6 container for 6 plants.
1 controller with float valve
and 1 reservoir 120l.
my feed line is the same with the drain line-i think is a litle mistake here-
my water pump has power 650l/h and
for veg i use 600 mh sunmaster and for flower a 600 phillips pia plus.
i have several questions about this headche..

yesterday i put in the clones..my water temps are 25c for now
but i hope in couple days to make it 22-23c.

i want to thanks BLAZEONUP because of his thread i make this sustem.

oompah! looking very good tjo how long will you veg them? have you thought about a screen?

what nutes are you using? do you have a ph and ec meter? it would help to have the drain be twice as big as the fill tube. some say having clear lines going into buckets attract algae growth.
i would try to insulate and reflect light off of the buckets to reduce the temperature of the res as much as possible. is a chiller possible?

all the water lines are black.
chiller is the ideal but the money is not enough for now.

i live in white greece but know is not so white..we still have big temps.
and all this about rdwc seems to me like a greek to you.
i used a lot of patience to build this.
bb is from sensi. hemcys bb is stabilized and has 2 phenos.
is not what a want but for now is the only female plant i have.

The "best" temp is right there at 20C :cheer: :woohoo:

whether you gotta heat it to 20C or cool it to 20C that is the best temp for holding more dissolved oxygen and promoting good root health and growth.

Lucas formula is what I use as well and the girls love it! Clear lines for air stones are fine but can let some light in promoting algae growth, so maybe just cover up so no light leaks through but i don't see that really becoming an issue with you especially if you use a screen of green, and in that case there would be no light hitting the buckets a couple weeks into flower anyways. Do you mean a 1/10 hp chiller? That is a good size, what I use for my 45 gallons.

I love the DIY DWC. Maybe I'll build a new system someday but I just upgraded to 30l per container from 19.

my containers are 26l but the water in the bottom of the net pot
is 11l. im thinking to cut some pvc panels so i can have another 2 cm
height.this mean another 3,5 litra more water inside.
in greece the only think you can do if you want hydro set up,
is to build it own your own.i think live in another planet sometimes...

the roots developent is beggin..today i saw the first.
also my ppm was 350 before 4 days and today is 300.
this is good? ph is stable in 5,6-5,7.

Tjo,

I am just starting with these systems and love them, but I am addicted to upgrading so after I get them dialed in I am sure I'll want to improve in some form or fashion.

The drop in the PPM is a good thing that means your ladies are eating the nutes that you are feeding them! As they drive the number down just give them new nutes at a SLIGHTLY higher concentration. Once they get close to their ripening point they will quit taking in nutes and the PPM will shoot to the moon. At that point drain the whole system and replace with RO water only. Finish the run for about a week to 10 days and enjoy some of the best bud in the world!

some fotos after few days..
the plants getting better.

my temps are 24c in the buckets..and this is not good i think.
im thinking to do add back with nuts because i dont want
to throw all this water with nuts..
any comments?

My understanding of Lucas is it is a minimal amount of GH nutes (micro and bloom, but skipping grow). I use the standard GH line and mix of (2micro 1grow 3bloom 1diamond nectar 1BecauZZ Bloom) for flowering and (2micro 3grow 1bloom 1diamond nectar 1BecauZZ Grow).

With RDWC you need much less nutes than other hydro or soil. I tried to go more towards the Lucas formula but found my garden suffered so I went back to my tried and true blend of Hydro sauce listed above.

is the feeding schedule you use the same for all
stages of the plant? the only change you make is to add more bloom or grow?
and do you use it with RO water or with tap??

why the lucas ratio didnt work for you? i ve read a lot
good comments in web and because it is easy for a noob like me,
i deside to use it.

what do you suggest me? and how often do you change the
water in your system?

I use that same mix, I just make it stronger as I go along and then flush at the end. Like I said I go from 10 - 50% strength and watch my PPM to determine how strong to ad in the new stuff. I flush intra run if the PPM gets way to high otherwise I wait until the end of flower to start draining and flooding and flushing.

I only use RO water. I didn't give Lucas enough of a chance, it is just easier to use the mix I know.

now i have another problem.. i have root root in my firsts roots.
i ve see brown spots..
the only styff i have is H2O2 at 35%.

?????? i dont know what to do.
this dwc is my worst headche.i remember the days when the soil
is my first choise..if this rdwc is not work, i go back to soil.

Brown spots could be nutes they are eating. I have used this product in the past for stressed or root damaged plants, but my veg room is 89.3 degrees right now and I don't have a res chiller. Despite that I will no problems with root rot. What is the water temp 20celcus is optimal.

These are weeds they are doing fine, it is very had to kill them. See if you can find some of this product and let me know.

my waters temps in the controler are 20-23c.
room temps 24-26c. rh 40%.
i see a lots of products like hydrozyme,aquashield etc etc..
..is very diffycult from my country, to find all this.the only think i have is h2o2 35% food trade.
bro i had great grows in soil for years.i deside to make dwc,no for bigger
yields, but for less plants.
last year i make an experiment with 2 buckets and i took 150g from 2 plants
when the others(soil) plants yield almost 35g each.

maybe in the close future i would bye a chiller but for know is not necessary.

i have a type of lucas and his says [(target-current)/target x 8 x gallons.
so i make all the maths and the score was 88ml micro and 176ml bloom.
my ppm goes to hell.im not a idiot,im just noob in hydro.
