breeding is a lot of hard work ,but you hope to get out what you put into it .. your skills and the time you take to learn ,study and research ,will show in your qualities and the genetics you select .....your abilities to take on any and all multi strains becomes second nature over the years .....how long you have been growing or breeding defines you . but you define the plants & strains you grow each time you put water to the seed or cut that clone ...its up to you if you want to learn with a fine skilled scalp or a double bladed broad axe ..smashing your way threw genetics like big foot in the woods ....lol

21 custom DWC in 5 by 8.6 ft ..SCROG with 8 soil fill in ,with twin 55 gallon res . a full automation system , if you grow them to fit the space ! you don't have to take over the market or hit 10ft to get the job done .. control ,reflection of skill level ... abilities and control of environment ,a good stable PH ,and a strong will to learn as you go ...

now I have some test and research results for you .. after we have started to define flush and harvest .. we when into a lighting test and light placement for this breeding room , and what's funny is it did not turn out the way we thought it would ,, we define two types of light placement ... 1.(V) center main lighting , 2. (inverted V)two rows of lighting pointing inward at a angle..

I tested these two in the same space with two full sets of lights and 3 types of lighting ...I had HPS 600 , LED 1200 watt, and LED 1000 Watt , we guest that all the lighting together would give the best results ... we were wrong ,,... from a breeders point of view . we found the rotation of the lights work the best we the 600 HPS on one end and the 1200 LED on the other end .. almost no difference between the two types of lighting , very little difference to select one over the other ,

what we did find was interesting ...light height and placement is what defines the best product quality ..when the placement matched up between the two types of lighting the results went beyond the scale ...

what this means is V and inverted V work well alternating or isolation between the two . works best ...

in the first picture you see the inverted V 6x 1000 Watt at a tilt ...they burn about 1800 watts ,, the other center lighting 600 HPS and 1200 LED uses 590 vs 510 right at about 1100 watts over all .. what we are not judging the lighting .. we are studying the finishing products quality ...we found the inverted V at 1800 watts work best for 5 days and then the next 3 days with V lighting ...so the effects of rotational lighting works better then ether by them self's , we tried the lighting in dozens of placements and combinations and none did as well as these two types together in a rotation ...we came up with a little shorter flowering time and little nicer resin production and not as much yield but the effect and quality was far above any thing else we tried ....one joint would get 5 people stoned easy and that was the lowest & weakest plant in the grow ..

we found that ageing of the resin and buds quality had almost nothing to do with what type of lighting it was ...

we found that as expected both types were better then just one but placement had a over all effect on the out come product quality ...

how much light the plant gets above the 900 lux has almost nothing to do with quality ...breeders look for effect resin production , development of plant qualities and stabilization of strain and gender traits ..you lights should be selected to fit your grow space .. type vs watts ..has less effect then height above the canopy ....what it proved was a 100 watt light was to much for this space and when the lighting was placed correctly the product went above the scale ..

what that means is you can put two 1000 HPS in this space but your just going to cook your plants ....

and you would get more quality product from using a better matching system of lighting and placement ...

the old more light the better is BS ...

my twin 1000 HPS set in the box , never needed them ...

the 1200 uses 510 watts . each of the 6 x 1000 uses 310 watts ,

now environment and condition of the plants is a must in all cases ..training is out side the study group ..

IMHO we may never define the facts of all possibilities but as we learn . some guide lines become clear and some things define the products we seek ...

from multi strain to the peak of quality these two lighting placements work best for us ...

more pics, let me add if your looking for quality . plant size dose not define quality of resin ... in fact those huge plants you all would like for yield have no chance to get the results we did ...keeping the plants at the best size for your grow and light values did far more for qualities then lights or the best nutrients or soil vs hydro ...good resin production as far as quality & effects goes .had more to do with good health and environment then lighting , medium or nutrients...IMHO

thanks dude, we put a lot of time in working and testing .. but quality is what everyone should be looking for . all that marketing just lowers the standards & stabilization of the strains and genders . I guess its home grown vs the top shelve ...

we found the larger plants did not have as good a effect and peak and lasting power then most of the med range plants . the qualities came in the cool temps more often with good strain traits ....good genetics are only as good as the environment and conditioning of the plants them self's ...(PH) a must !

we are mostly old school smokers and med users ,you get 6 people in one room wait to see who gets stones first ...lol

the high last 4-6 hours and that's the worst plant in the room .. the rest is to stoned to care ....testing a multi strain grow is the hardest part ...

we think there is some debate to the point of plant size .. big plants can produce big buds . but we ask dose big bud define quality ,the answer IMHO is No ... , quality is defined by potency and effectiveness of the high ...and often is in direct relationship with resin production with respect to plant age and development ... here is and example :

two plants #1 3 ft high and #2 5ft high , both the same age and same growth rates yet ,the taller plant must grow threw a faster stretch then the smaller plant , if we are to under stand the true nature breeding then the taller plant must relate to its inner Sativa genetics , why the smaller plant dose not ...now if you control the genetic age of the plant to grow with in your grow space then it may never reach its full development in door ...

in this case the smaller plant will always win in the quality debate in door ....IMHO ....this is not to say the taller plant can not be grown in door to full development but most commercial growers know this and have cost effective development programs un like the home grower or breeder ...that often fits a space to his needs and thus finds his space defining his strains and environment and conditioning guild lines for variations...

IMHO the best breeders and growers can grow any where and can develop a collection of strains and skills to define the best results for the space he has to work in .. this puts him in a one on one with the plants he grows and this will always give him a higher quality plant development ....true I may not be able to grow 50 lbs in a 5 by 8.6 ft SCROG .. but the quality of what I do grow is a out right 100% and some tell me that should be 125 % ..

IMHO this is a good example of what happened when the strain big bud was developed, the larger buds were what everyone wanted but few wanted the loss of quality ... and even today the strain in many ways is still fighting for higher quality , then you must also look at strains like White widow , and Northern lights , and see many strains developed with good quality are in door and set the path for most out door strains , the debate comes full circle and as we develop in door Sativa we find in many cases the time is not cost effective to the normal in door grower or breeder ...IMHO ... many in door sativa can reach a fair level quality but never reach their full genetic growth rates thus stunned in development and left where it becomes up to the grower or breeder to define how true the nature of these strains become with in the controlled environments they develop ...

in fact in many In door grow the strains selection defines the out come way before the starting germination ...

in some cases in multi strain grows the breeder or grower make the choices for each strain and define how the out come of those strains will develop in to the quality and the values of those finished products before they are even cured ...IMHO I feel that many strains vanish because they don't fit the modern developmental path of the sellable product markets ...
even if those product lower the standards of the genetic pole it self ...

and one must ask him self .where dose this end . will the market change the future of cannabis only to have cannabis revert back to its most stabilized reflection in natures grow room out side and free from conditions of man made environment and dreams the all mighty strains and products of the modern markets ...?

at the end of the day . did we find the quality we wanted in the strains ... yes .. it did not come from the best lighting or the best nutrients, it came from the relationship between the grower and breeder and the plants he grows for what ever reason his needs define his goals , with the right skills and resources he can select and develop a workable strain choice for his grow space and the out come is a reflection of his skills and abilities as well as the genetic strains he selects ...

note : in respect to over all quality ... "hands on !" is the best way to reach the true top shelve quality of any strain ...!

you can say its the human contact with the plants or the lack of human nature if the grow room if automated or computerized but the out come speaks for it self .....the best cannabis is grown by those that care most about the quality of cannabis ...

and this only leaves me with one question ... is this what happened to the human race .. we became so modernized we lack the hands on development that define true quality ... sad but true ! the true quality lost in the development of a push button world ....click !
