"Seedsman Indoor Grow Contest" Jack Herer FAST Fem by PersonalProvide

Here we go with my first round. Growing a FAST strain is new for me and can't wait to see how it goes.

I germinated the 3 seeds using the shot glass method. Approximately 40 hours in the water and all three taproots were showing. Left side of picture.

I then moved them onto a damp paper towel and enclosed them in between two small plates and let sit. Checked them 12 hours later and was satisfied with the growth of the roots. Right side of picture.

I decided to plant the three seeds directly into their final pots, I believe they are about 3.5 gallons, filled with 1 part Fox Farms Happy Frog and 2 parts Fox Farms Ocean Forest and mixed in a little diatomaceous earth to be safe. They were then placed about 12" under 250w HPS with homemade humidity domes placed over the seeds.
Numbers one and two fully broke ground about 2 days later while number 3 was barely breaking the surface. Initial pictures are on the left and how they looked 2 days later are on the right.
J.H.1

J.H.2

J.H.3

So far, so good. Barely any water added as of yet and when I did, I kept it local to the seedling in hopes of concentrating root growth until they gain some more size.
I love this competition and can't wait to watch everyone's successes and hopefully learn some more in the process. Good luck icmag!

For now 250w is all I can manage due to temperature inside the tent. I have a 400w to try it I figure out a better way to remove the heat in the area. I'm also looking into an LED setup.

Thanks all.

A week later.

Not too much going on this week. Number one and two stretched a bit and their leaves gotten a bit larger. Number 3 is a little behind the others and so far hasn't stretched. All were watered twice this week with ph'ed tap water. That's all for this week's report.

Thanks for peeking in.

2 weeks veg

It was a pretty busy week for these girls. They really added some growth. Leaves are a nice, dark green. One and three already smell. It's always amazing how three plants from the same strain, under the same conditions, grow so differently. One and two are really stretched while number three has stayed short. I think I'll have to add some wooden stakes along 1 and two during flower. We'll see. Watered three times this week with plain tap water ph'ed to approximately 6.5. I guess that's all I have to offer this week. Here are their mugshots.

Thanks for stopping by.

Time for change and for flowering

Well I decided to give LED a chance during flowering. One full day under 12/12. I got a 600w light set in the tent. 350w increase and a 6 degree improvement in temps. I decided to initiate flowering due to space. This week I will be starting to slowly add nutes to the watering and keep a close eye on their responses to that and the new light. That's all the exciting news for this week's update.

Back left plant is Seedsman blueberry not in contest because I didn't take pics of germination process. Front left is JH 1, front right is JH 2 and back right is the smaller JH 3
JH 1

JH 2

1 and 2 look very similar in structure but number one definitely has more of a cannabis odor whereas two smells like a green plant.
JH 3

Stout phenotype of the strain. Similar odor to JH 1.

Really interested to see how they mature under the LED. I just hope I don't mess then up playing with a new light source.
