Ybor huh, didn't figure you for a Tampa Boy Rez..:tiphat:

I can't comment on the vernacular in the Tampa area, but in the Miami area Krippys/Krippies was synonymous with Haze for a great many of the Pot snobs that I dealt with; at the time. But as was said, even back then there were people who used the term generically for any good weed, which is it's primary meaning today. Although it has started to wane in usage.

Rez you sound like you know that era of South Fla pretty well; You must be at least as old as I am.lol... Were you familiar with the players in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area of the time (i.e. Porno Al, Rooster, Taco Joe etc...). If you were, we may have met before...

Nah bro,I stayed to the NE. Miami was too violent for my tastes. Fwiw,in the late 80s-early 90s our crew rocked Tampa/St.Pete area with loads of Original Stock Neville's Seed Bank Hash Plant,NL5x2,and Skunk#1 for quite a few years. I was growing during "Green Merchant" Op days,if that "dates" me,lol!
Our Hash Plant Clone was THE benchmark in Tampa indoor for many years-you prolly' smoked it. The Skunk#1 was pure "roadkill skunk"-I miss that shit! :)
I tired of being hunted by Task Forces,(never got caught-whew!) and watching friends jailed for No Good Reason. It was a great place to get mindlessly laid as a youth, but it's completely DEVOID of anything in the "Constitutional Rights" department.
Illegal cop wiretaps,bugs-seen it all. Those guys NEVER played fair, yet they expected us to. We left the violence to the cocaine trade, those powder guys were classless.
That said,it was real,and it was fun,but it wasn't Real Fun,past a point.

Cheers!

I heard of Rooster, wow! In the mid to late 80's, I was a teen, & I remember Rambo was big in the Ft. Laud/Miami area. Crack was soo huge then too, & so was the violence; I stayed the hell away from that, though.

Right on Rez our stories are pretty similar same reason I left, i never been busted or anything but got to see many of whom I knew get locked up with crazy charges....
Illegal tapping, searches you name it.... They play real dirty in FL Crooked cops all over.
We used to have ware houses all up and down Florida.. some of the bust that went down with people I worked with where the biggest in the state by far I had to leave.

Miami vs Tampa violence? Granted, I grew up in Miami, and its a pretty fucked up place. Went through a full SWAT raid. But during the 90s, Tampa had a higher murder rate than Miami! Ybor city especially is a pretty fucked up area! You ever been to Guavaween?

rez you gotta bring that roadkill back....i had some skunk1 that i thought was good but apparently not the real deal RKS...but damn lotsta good shit in this thread.....i remember reading about some shit in FL where they installed motion sensor cameras across from the growhouses...the cops had taps on every little dealer in the network...that + the groweradicationact make FL sound like a tough place to be in the pot business..

from the east coast here NE to be exact ,..... crip is not just used as a general term for seedless or good buds, it is used for nothing but the top shelf dank! for example skunk 1, mango, cali -o, jerry berry would fall under headies[ seedless grade above beasters ] but your og's, blue dream's ,chem's, diesel's would fall under crip, crip is some shit that off one hit your coughing your ass off, face turning red, struggling to breathe! and not to many people on the east coast really use the term crip,... I understood it to be a west coast term?????

the high wassuper expando full blown skunky goodness and one hit had your blown out

the reaal prize was the extra gear that kicked in and was all up in your dome abot 45 minutes later when you were shiting your pants in a sat induced panic attaack

Negative Wilmington, like the title say's Florida Crippy.I was born and raised in FL. and several posters said this already
It's a generic term in Fl. for ANY indoor weed. Doesn't matter what the name is. Sell a Lb. to one guy , he sells it to another and poof no name anymore, it's crippy.
Only growers and people connected to growers really use names of strains. Customers call it Crip, crippy, cripto and such.
Nowa days though the kids want to call everything Kush. Even if it's the same weed that's been around for years, it's Kush this and Kush that. Pretty funny to hear.
Anyways, glad I left that hell hole. They'll give you 25 for having a child in a "growhouse" WTF!!?!!

i was in so fla back then too, first time i heard of $100 a quarter, not a penny less , used to get it vacuum sealed in mason jars for $400 an oz, somehow it would make 5 quarters on a postage scale, seemed to chunky to be a straight up haze, i have some pics buried somewhere, the psuedo crips were anything that looked like crips, but not quite up to par
