We are constantly looking, already since some time, to find and then suggest the best soil to get that taste but is not an easy task as you can imagine.

I will try to get in contact with our breeder and see if he can provide me with some good info

Take care,

Forgot to mention that the Critical Sour is obviously not a pure Maroc but it surely can remind you of its Maroccan parent! I am talking about the structure of the plant, its height (even if it can be tiny bit lower than the Maroc) and the shape of its buds of course...but we still need to get precise info about taste and so on.
Anyhow, feel free to drop me a message if you have doubts or questions!

All the best,
Mr B.

I know.

But in "Maroc" (Ketama x Auto NL) is... 50% Maroc.
In (Maroc x Grapefruit) x (Auto NL x Auto NL x Auto Critical) is more than 50% Maroc ? I don't think so hehe And some say yes.

It was written here (probably before the edition) that Critical Sour has more Maroc genes than Maroc itself, so I asked.

Both Maroc and Critical Sour are awesome strains for northern latitudes. I grew them both at 52N last year, Critical Sour, most phenos were done by beggining of October. The Marocs, the chunky pheno seems to be done quicker, also end September/October, and the more Sativa pheno went all the way to the end of October, but had amazing mold resistance and it survive 3 frosts without a scratch.

Maroc yielded very nice on 7 gallons of amended native soil, yielded 160grams. On guerrila soil yielded considerably less and stayed a lot shorter.

Smells on Maroc is hashy, lemony, earth and some fruity in there.

Critical Sour is more on the fruity side, but also hashy! Mold resistance is not so good on these, but they should finish a few weeks earlier. I have a thread where I tested both and there are plenty of pictures to be found there if interested!

I actually found 3 s1 seeds on the Maroc Chunky pheno that I plan on running this year. Also got a few Critical Sour and I might snatch another Maroc pack to go along!

Big up Female seeds.

Maroc is an awesome strain for outdoor, northern Latitudes!

Interesting point Popey
Well, let's say that it does not really work like that. It's slightly more complex than that. Unfortunately I can't help you that much as I am not an expert in Genetics and anything I say, could be misleading.

What I can tell you for sure is that much depends on phenos too. As for example, Critical Sour presents phenos deriving both from Grapefruit and Maroc that's also something important to mention.
Obviously also Maroc present its own phenotypes but keep in mind that it is a pure Maroc that was crossed with an Autoflowering.
Critical Sour it's a cross and will always carry some percentage deriving from its parents but it does not mean that it has more Maroc genes at all.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,
Mr B.

BW! Thanks for these lovely and kind words, much appreciated my friend.
That's a great feedback, it matches the descriptions of both strain concerning the plant it self and its taste/flavour. (jeez...so tasty )

Indeed, Critical Sour finishes earlier and that's why it is also not the most resistant against mould.
Seems like the Maroc you had was a true gem, and I remember the great training you did on it

Big up to you my friend, you made them shine!

Cheers,
