2020 hoop house fun.

Id do 1m wide beds of soil, 2 of, in that hoophouse..the whole length of greenhouse, plant SOG, less plants in beginning and higher density single colas once end summer approahing to fill, sticking cuttings direct into soil with shade cloth over to root them, training into into netting and train you canopy to be homogenous and filling only bottom half of airspace in hoophouse..i used to run 2 hoophouses about the same size, pulling about 20-30lbs per hoophouse each season.

Another thing baking soda is half sodium.. which is toxic to plants..better things to spray, spraying in flower creates conditions for mold also remember.

Also why the shade cloth? Stealing your light there...

I got the shade cloth because my plants were getting cooked. There are pics of the damage in this thread.
I’m thinking seriously about the SOG method next year. I think it would be much better use of space.
What would you recommend I use as a fungal preventative?
Thank you.

As much fresh air as possible haha..aac teas also help pre flower and potassium salt foliars..heard good things about chitosan..genetics also..and in hoophouses a bit of luck also..watch botritus if you have infections it can come back from the medium worse and worse each time as it overwinters in the soil..

There is a bluetooth device called Sensorpush that will keep track of your temperature and humidity. I used a 40% shade cloth last year and it helped allot.

Something to think about. I added a ridge vent before this season.
No fans needed at all this year and the temp is right there with the outdoor temps.
Huge amount of fresh air comes in the roll up sides and out the vent.

I just started spraying Actinovate to help prevent any issues with botrytis or pm. I’ve been spraying 5g per gallon of de-chlorinated water. I hope it works as well as people say.

Things are going pretty well. Humidity was though the roof (90%) but is now down to an acceptable level (50-60%). I’ve had a few caterpillars here and there so I’m using Spinosad every four days and Actinovate every two. The Jack Herrer smells amazing.

So the weather ass fucked me really badly. The humidity has been out of control and the base soil that I used for my “super soil” was full of thrips and fungus and botrytis ran wild in the hoop house the last couple weeks, along with powdery mildew. I knocked back the PM but the thrips brought botrytis spores out of the organic soil and got it all over my buds. Spinosad every other day plus root drenches couldn’t keep the thrips in check. Long story short, I’m taking a 100% loss. The first few tops I harvested and dried were full of mold when I tried to trim them. I went out there today and cleaned house. I chopped down everything and buried it with a backhoe.
