When I first got my BML SYPDR 600, a passively cooled design (now gathering dust). The bars got quite hot. I used a fan to blow across them, and made BML aware. Nick wrote back saying that would make them more efficient; as heat is reduced efficiency increases. See Growmau5s new YT video.Cree says running low passively is dumb
all LEDS run more efficent when cooler, they consume less volts at the same current when hot but emit less light per watt
in the diy world we like to keep leds Tj below 50c, that costs alot so comercial fixtures keep them below manufactures max specification(in this case 85c)
running a pc fan or having the air stirrer fan blow across the sink will increase efficiency by a few % but also increase total watts by a few %
i wouldnt bother in this case
