building grow room

In building a grow room 4 by 4 or 4 by 12 was wondering if mylar emergency blankets work at all and what kind of screen can i us for a passive intake to keep bugs out using a 800 watt cob light so far and 240 cfm fan and carbon filter. Thank you

Hey man, they won't work well. They'll create hot spots, and if not secured properly, could flap into a fixture and melt. I would use either 1/2" mylar backed 4x8 foam insulation panels, a real roll of grow room wall liner, or plywood and white paint. If you can afford it FRP or Plastex panels are the best.

As far as a screen, consider building a box to house a 1 inch thick furnace filter, whatever shape or size you need (for example a 12" x 16"). Get one that filters pollens, and other biological crap.

You could also use a smaller plastic tote and tape the filter over a square cut out in the lid. Then hook your ducting to the side, etc.
