Anyone know what the proper pH for lilies?
Friend got black lilies. Picture shows jet black flowers.
The actual flowers are dark red and purple.
Could this be a pH issue?
Or just false advertising?

While there are no flowers that are a true black in color, some come so close due to their deep. rich red or purple tones, that they actually appear black.

Thanks for the response. The pic on package showed a very dark purple almost black.

The actual flowers are more magenta. Not dark at all. Just thought it could be pH issue.
They very well could have darkened the picture though

Had an uncle that was lily and orchid crazy
he loved the exotic colors like those you describe

he had success with darker colors with slightly acidic soils for each


Good luck and post some pics of those beauties when you can
