Bro I think you're gunna need more lanterns if you want dense nugs.

I tried growing with a Coleman gas lantern once, but every time I turned it horizontal to put it under my batwing reflector the gas would drip out and catch my plants on fire.
Yeah I was really starting to wonder if it was enough lumens to get my 3.7 grams per watt that I'll never get 😂

Hey Greenthumber can you explain what you have going in that upper corner with the 2x4s, looks like an air intake or something like that?

There is a gas line that runs under the ceiling joists for the length of the 2x4's so I had to build around it so it's not in the room,, in getting a lot done today and will update again in a little while

Hey, Greenthumber. Nice looking build. I run a sealed room with vented hoods also. If you don't mind I'm going to tag along...

Are you venting window units into the basement, going with a mini split, or something all together different?

Hey thanks man and no problem at all.

I would love to be running a mini split just not in the budget at the moment with all the funds being dumped into building materials etc etc and I know it's not ideal but I have on order a 14000 btu portable dual ac that should be showing up in the next few days that's the main reason I want to air cool the hoods or atleast keep as much of that heat out of the room as I can to not overkill the portable, plus it's starting into fall here and the nights are getting a lot cooler now so I think it'll get me through the winter untill I can get a mini split in..

How about you what are you cooling with?

Cool thread. I'm enjoying the build pron.

Are you planning on entering through the flower room to get to the veg room or vice versa?

I would definitely enter from the veg room to get to the flower room. This way you can always go check on the veg room if needed and don't have to worry about interrupting the dark cycle.

All of the above, at one time or another. Im using a mini split now, but used a 12k but dual hose for a number of runs to cool 1,600watts unvented.

Keeping the heat from the exhaust/intake tubing out of the room is key to efficiency. I slid 6" insulated flex duct over the a/c tubing. it worked ok. if your just dumping the hot air into the basement, window units are cheaper and more efficient..just plug it through the g room wall, build a vented enclosure to scrub it. :2cents:

or whatever it takes, f@ck buying it, if you can grow it...right

Glad you are!, I actually really wanted to do it that way but giving the circumstances my entry door is in the flower room to the veg room and the reasoning behind it is because i can turn it into a regular bedroom with very little fix and it would kind of be like a closet (veg). When he want to sell arises, but I will run the cycles to the best of my benefit otherwise

That's pretty smart I'll have to add that into my scheme of things to do for sure as I've already got the portable on order. What kind of temps where you looking at with the open hoods and a portable of you can recall?

I tend to run closer to 80f with 55%/65% rh lights on...trying to keep the dehumidifier only running during lights out to stagger the loads on the a/c. It worked. Every grow, no matter how large or small, is a matter of dialing it in. Just have hang some lights, put some plants in and adjust from there. If you can't cool as well as want you are creating to much heat, its a balancing act.

Cant wait to see some green though...seeds started yet?

That's what I was round about thinking with open lights, Being the basement im in is usually a steady 65-67 degrees I'm aiming around 75-80 with cooled lights is my guess anyway, but absolutely either way I'll get dialed in lol, No I've yet to order any seeds but I have a cuttings of og#18 and bluedream from one buddy and a few other choices from another that i can get whenever it won't be long! And trust me I can't wait to see green in there either lol. Sadly I'm at work but would rather be mudding and painting lol
