Azos arrived 3 months out of date

Sup Icmag i have started my 2nd grow & thought i would try
some Azos because a few members here said give it a try so
i phoned the grow shop and put an order in for some things
so the order came next day.and when i picked up the Azos
pkt its very light and pkt is blown up.so i checked the date
and its 3 months out of date...pure raging i bet the shop is try
too get rid of old stock too internet orders.this was £30 too
looks like i wont be potting up tomorrow.

It doesn't mean all the Myco stuff is dead. :comfort:

Best before dates are just suggestions and reminders. :tiphat:

For example, if you buy a carton of milk and it says best before June 1st. It doesn't mean on
June 2nd the milk has gone bad and poisonous to drink. It just a reminder to the retailer to
move the product as fast as possible.

Just use the product as fast as possible and next time you buy a product like that look at
the date and/or make sure you tell them to not send a product with an expired date on it.

I'm sure if you had a microscope you would see those little buggers squirming around. :biggrin:

If bacteria all died after a certain date. People wouldn't need a pressure cooker
or autoclave to sterilize anything. So trust me they are most likely still squirming. :biggrin:

hey troutman i contacted xtreme gardening they said i should contact the manger
of the shop as i have been sold an out of date product.because there Azos has a 3 year
shelf life and mine is out of date.so how long has mine been laying around.i no what you are saying but if i am paying full price for a product i want it in date thats all so now when i order i have too ask check the date please i should have went too a local shop

and sorry troutman its not 1 day out of date its 3 months and the bag has swollen up

Well try to get them to ship you another one if you can. But in the mean time
do use the one you have. I hope they replace it or give you a refund.

The bag has swollen up maybe because those bacteria had sexy time
and made lots of babies and need a new home to move into. :laughing:

thats the thing with buying over the internet they cause hassle
last time they sent me coco full of fungas gnats they were flying in and out of the bag.

It's a good safety protocol to expect pests when bringing in new materials like grow mediums or
clones and quarantining them with possible treatments until you know better. Luckily, fungus gnats
are way easier to deal with than lets say something like spider mites.

yes i agree but that time i dumped them and company sent me new bags without
the gnats.and i wont ever be taking clones from anyone.seeds will do me fine

Hey Rab-
If you can, take a pic of expiration date and return address where you got it. Send it to hydro shop and ask for another shipment free of charge. If they say "No", it's a good indicator to stay far away from them.

I’d be angry about the date, too. It’s something I’ve learned to anticipate, and not only with online orders.

I’ve used much Azos. Even the more recent vintage bags do come light weight and puffy, so don’t worry about that part.

Hope you get a replacement and an apology. I gather that the selling of outdated and poorly stored products is not uncommon.

all i wanted was a product with some shelf life so i can use it on future grows

Anyway its sorted now & the shop is great for info and delivery is fast
if they didnt replace it i would have went to another shop.

I managed to get a brand new in the box 10in Rhino pro for £110 lol including postage,
Was even opened ,,,bloke had a change of mind ,,,
Re- concealed it and sent it off,,,
Happy days but still oversized for the room,,,s2

I cant believe I am reading this , the bastards are still scamming people.

On Monday I purchased 6oz of Azos from one stop hydro shop for £30 . It arrived today and I was gutted to see it was nearly 3 months out of date .

I cant believe it , the same shop still selling the same out of date products .
God knows how many other growers like us have been scammed by these crooks .

Anyone know of any other cases ?

I'm confident about getting my money back , but its such a frustrating feeling when you get scammed .
