Sounds like you need to clean the res and bleach it good then focus on keeping the water 70 or below. Warm water is a bad thing with hydroponics.

A product called hygrozyme is very helpful in maintaining a healthy res.

Switch to r/o filtered water, because it removes all the living things and almost all the food. Take care of all your element needs in the root zone, and only use the r/o water to re-hydrate what you're doing.

Then keep your excess water cool and dark.
