Finally getting all settled in and got a new tent setup on the order and arriving in 5-8 business days...Can safely germinate seeds I think now.

here is link to the Original thread ,, https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=346836

Now about the new tent setup, going for a interesting tent build, its really small, but I'm doing an innovative setup with it.

Strain-- "Angry Jamaican" ACE Purple Malawi pheno female pollinated by CBG Caribe red stripe pheno male
Tent-Growlab Gl40 .... 1'4" X 1'4"X 3'11"
Lighting-- 180w LED------ 4 x 45watt led Root Farm panels
ventilation- 4 inch inline variable speed duct fan high quality silent
Air Circulation-8 inch silent variable desk fan high quality
Grow Method-3.5 gallon bubble boy hydro (4 banger & single )
Nutrients-GH flora series----digital ph meter----Bloom City professional up&down
Grow Media-Hydrostone & Coco seed starters for hydroponics

this set up pretty much qualifies for the 1 square foot challenge,,,Its just barley out of the qualifications size wise,,,but close enough considering its all not custom work, only ready available products used...I plan on posting on that thread .

Grow style will be to start 4 seeds in the 4 banger setup on a 12/12 from seed routine with the regular Malawi X Caribe seeds I made previously. Then select the best female to finish in the tent, growing one big cola 12/12 from seed sativa, moving into the single bubble boy set up.....I purchased both a single bubble boy 3.5 gallon and the 4 banger version 3.5 gallon....it will make things easy and I have back up pump...

Grow tent setup is to hang the 8 inch circulation desk fan from the top like you would normally hang the light.....the 4 X 45w LED panels will be hung vertically on all 4 sides and "railed" with individual pulleys to adjust for height..to make use of all the available vertical height..

Anyway its gonna be a good fun time ,stay tuned...:woohoo:

You've put a lot of thought (and money) into this, it ought to be fun to watch. I'll take a front row seat. Should be an interesting cross, looking forward to it. Best of luck my friend.
Peace, God bless

My current conditions limit me to a tiny micro grow , but now that I'm in Colo. Thats totally acceptable because I can supplement with the legal supply chain...So I thought this a perfect opportunity to approach the 1 square foot challenge and focus on one plant of premium quality and have some fun with a high powered bonsai setup...Was a little expensive but not outrageous...Should be super fun and cool to watch...I wanted small and easy maintenance as well as high powered, and also the easy of a plug and play design....Finding all the pieces of the puzzle took some time...its gonna be really fun

8 seeds started

thought I should post a pic of the cross from the previous thread,( its nice to have bud porn on every page you know)...even though its been abused some , the cross is resilient .

great potential for single giant cola growing from 12/12 seed,,,were looking at 120-150 days finish time from seed to harvest.

Lights came today. Versitility for microgrowing is this lights best feature.

It appears the GL40 40 tent is a discontinued item...had an order cancel on me , I might try 1 more time to get the GL 40....but might be looking at a slightly larger tent , that's not a bad thing, certainly have the equipment to make it happen..

These seeds are all ready to get going, gonna hold them in the fridge now, might be early on them, the stuff I need to transfer them will be here any day now, if I need to start new ones too, that's ok...I got lots of these.nice to know they are still very viable.

Tent update, found a near identical size tent replacement,,,it's only 1 inch taller, so I'm still in that 1square ft challenge area.to keep things interesting..

More pieces to the puzzle arrived, another package tomorrow is expected,,with the tent finally next week Tuesday, but I can get seedlings in bucket tomorrow once my ph tester and nutrients arrive...will put them under light 24/7 until tent arrive.

I like the fan , very quiet, really overkill for what I need but at the speeds I'm gonna be running it,,there is no sound.

New toys is so much fun:woohoo:

Ready set ...grow!!!
Gonna run 24/7 to get some size on them before flipping, not big, but let's get something started.
Just gonna run full power, it's only 180w led... about 220w total power I'm guessing full draw.
Let's see what happens now, dialing in the fan speeds I want...

This gonna be fun:tiphat:

Update

Rough start for the seedlings, one fatality,,,I did not baby them, I believe the strong survive...they were a little late transplanting I attribute to the loss.

3 are looking good and taking off now with things looking promising.

The one in the back is early favorite

Hi Jammal,

Nice to see you continue with the selections and breeding of your own Purple Malawi x Caribe hybrid. Both Malawi and Caribe have the potential to produce very suitable individuals that will perform great with a single cola in an indoor setup, so with proper selections guess you can also probably find that kind of expressions in your own hybrid between these 2 lines.

The bigger is the population you start with the higher the chances to find suitable plants with the growing profile and flower qualities you are looking for. Once you have found the most suitable female for your growing goals, then clone her and monocrop her to add consistency in your micro setup.

Good luck in your endeavour!

Thanks for the encouragement Dubi....No plans to further the Hybrid, I like to do a F1 cross simply just for fun...The Malawi x Caribe is a very solid combo, I've been very happy with the outcome..I'm thinking of a future indica ACE x CBG hybrid with Kali China and Peyote Purple.

Update: Things are slow , I'm still very new to Hydro, The 3 are alive but not much to look at at this point...but progress is being made.

Balls

The tall one was male, and was sacrificed. I thought yesterday I seen a little something but wasn't sure what,,,yup that's balls.

2 smaller ones growing fast now I got nutrients figured out... I'm guessing they'll show sex with in a week...

24/0 light is weird on sativa growth, the chosen lady is gonna go nuts hitting 12/12..

I wasn't really happy with how things were going and decided to just do a refire and start over with better knowledge of how setup runs...

I do really like how this little setup works though now I got it figured out... they really took off once I did.

Using the Coco starters like I originally planned, just put the tap root right in center.

This time I'm going back to my beliefs that this hybrid doesn't like 24/0, or vedge time even. And really does best just 12/12 right from seed like it should most of the time in it's natural environment.

So yeah refire, with true 12/12 from seed.

Update: starting seeds directly into hydroton is not all that easy, but we got this one strong starter,. So decided to give the little thing a shot at the title.

Could go either way M/F just a regular seedling, transplanting the small cups into the larger net pot workd really slick.

12/12 from seed , maybe about day 5-8??
