Medicinal Effects of Strains

Well, Nattynatty, that's what I'm talking about. Who is this masked man? I'm NOT putting down Tom Hill. Far from it, too many growers I really respect are just going bonzo over Cripple Creek, Deep Chunk, Caljax, etc. It's just amazing that suddenly these new strains seemed to all pop up at once.

I'm VERY lucky to have received a few Caljax and Deep Chunk which I can't wait to pop. I just am curious as to the origins of these strains. I've seen the pics from CBF and these girls look fantastic.

Yours,
Dr. jay

Ah, the Nattynattygirl is getting downright Ras :) Very Irie.

Gosh, I've found Sativa dominants best for neuropathic pain and nausea while Indica dominant work best for muscle spasm and inflammation. So, it depends what you're trying to treat.

I use Sativa dominant generally during the day in order to not get too couchlocked. I broke my rule this AM by toking a bowl of Romulan and it took me another 2 hours to then get out of bed.

Good daytime Sativa dominant strains include Santa Marta Gold, C-99, S.A.G.E., Apollo, and Mother's Finest. Of course Jamaican Lambsbread is way up there (from what I hear I've not had the pleasure.

For nightime I go with Indica dominant to help my back and the leg spasms. Sensi Star is nice, Black Domina even better and the G-13 crosses not bad. My standby always is BOG's Lifesaver.

Dr. jay

LOL, I and I went to graduate school with a fellow from Kingston who always warned me "look out for the Ras mon". LOL. Ernie was his name and upper middle class was his game. Ernie would go on and on about "all those Ras do is smoke de dope all day long".

Now my stepson is an honorary Ras with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh being his mentors. You sure won't see any Ras starting any wars.

I never argued with Ernie about the Ras. He was a good guy and would back pounds of "Coffee mon, from de Blue Mountain". Yum!

So Irie it is :)

Dr. Jay

I just found this thread and I have to get my hands on some seeds of cripple creek.

My wife and I both have severe depression. We are both on ss disability. I also have constant anxiety and social phobia. Keeps life interesting to say the least.

I have been looking into strains that would best help us. Being in California allows us to grow legally since my doctor supports our use of marijuana.

Big blue from highgrade-seeds and bubblegum were my choices until I read this thread. Cripple creek sounds like it would be a perfect match for us.

Anyone know where I can order the seeds from?
Thank you

It CouLd Be BeAuTiFuL!!

Hello nattynattygurrl,
Your situation sounds an awful like mine !
The doctors keep bouncing me between these symptoms.

Has anyone had any experience with either of these strains ?

Ducksfoot
From the Australian breeder Wallyduck we have the Ducksfoot plant. This is a true 'stealth' plant because it exhibits a very unusual trait in that the leaves of this plant do not look like the typical marijuana leaf construction. The leaves are the shape of a ducks foot - hence the name. Truly a must for the guerilla grower, and it's only 8 weeks flowering!

or

Sand Storm
great plant to make hashish from two great hashish lines, both 100% indica: the mother, an indica from the Chitral Kush region coupled with an exceptional male clone from Arabene, Morroco. It gives very dense nuggets covered with resin. These plants need to be ventilated well when the buds start putting weight and density. This sweet scented plant is potent, productive and easy to grow.

Any info would be appreciated !

Anybody---If you are growing an unstablized strain (sativa-indica) and have a wide variety of "sisters" from that grow, would you expect the smoke to be uniform. or would it be unique to the individual plant? Often wondered about this.

Well, Dramajic you kind of answered your own question. If your strain is unstabilized then you're going to get a range of phenotypes which can be quite different in effect.

dr. jay

What an insane coincidence, Owl Mirror! For the past week I've been trying so hard to remember the URL of a web site I saw a few years ago, where the writer made such a logical, balanced discussion of the practice and ethics of using chemicals to feel better. And then I saw your link to biopsychiatry.com. That was very cool to see that web site again. Thanks!

Here are a couple of my favorite quotes, which only took me about ten minutes to find again:

"If we could sniff or swallow something that would, for five or six hours each day, abolish our solitude as individuals, atone us with our fellows in a glowing exaltation of affection and make life in all its aspects seem not only worth living, but divinely beautiful and significant, and if this heavenly, world-transfiguring drug were of such a kind that we could wake up next morning with a clear head and an undamaged constitution-then, it seems to me, all our problems (and not merely the one small problem of discovering a novel pleasure) would be wholly solved and earth would become paradise."

Looking forward to seeing more med reports on Dr Jay's thread.
I'll add a medical smoke report of Deep Chunk if my 2 plants end up female...will return in a few months with a verdict..

King - a mostly indica strain, very popular here on Vancouver Island. Taste is a kinda maple sweet, with hashy undertones with uncured buds. Buzz is a pleasant relaxing body buzz that works great for numbing that lower back. Stay under 2 joints per session (depending on tolerance) and you can smoke this all through the day.

I have grown out two great medicinal strains. The first being a very indica dominant White Rhino that was pure in statue. It has still been the only strain to work in allieviating ALL the pain throughout my body. The smoke was extremely dense and full, but not a harsh choker. Very mellow. No droppy narcotic stone to it. I was able to do things around the house and play with my son without being in pain. The other strain was Romulan and it was great aside from the narcotic feel of it. Felt like I had a shot of Demerol or Turidol. The Romulan is right up there in all aspects aside from the drool you'll be wiping off your pants...very narcotic. Sativa/Indica hybrid. Grew rather stretchy and tall. Rich smoke with a earthy taste. Liked it. Workin with a local grower's strain that is a double whammy. Merryberry, real ripe berry smell and an intoxicating sedative stone. Like the Romulan, you might drool but can at least freakin drive. Will see what harvest brings.

Can anyone reccomend a good strain to help induce sleep? I have, IMO, a mild case of insomnia. So, if anyone could recomend a nice strain to help me sleep. Taste, looks, harshness does not matter..Just anything that could help me sleep. Well thanks in advance.
