Hahah Bababooey! after I posted... I looked at the waiver and Bortles was available so i picked him up..

snow slows the game down so i think you are right baba', playing in those conditions would be safer for the players
/force is calculated by multiplying mass times the speed
anything that slows down the game makes it safer for the player and football in the snow just looks cool

dont get me wring evergreen, brady is a generational tallent for sure
but you have to admit, a lot of his success is based on the team around him and belichicks ability to get the most out of his men
/think of belickick as a "power-up" for brady

My God we sucked hard this last time, a lot of high school teams looked better I am sure!
I am sure the gloaters and haters enjoyed that, but if we get back to playing like we can, like we have, we will be alright, otherwise well I have to have faith. Go Patriots!

Bortles has 3 playmaking receivers in marqise lee, dede westbrook and keelan cole to throw to. He's not going to throw for 400 yds or close to it but he's a good bet for multiple td's each of the next two games. And yeah, really bad luck with both of your top qb's going down for the season last week. Just a crazy year for injuries.

Whoa whoa whoa, i can deal with all the political talk, but when you start spouting physics in a football thread that's where i draw the line, Pop.
Are you going to be watching the broncos try to win one against the equally struggling colts tonite or are you waiting for the chiefs/chargers armageddon this saturday?

Surely you must be used to the patriots hate by now, Toker. It's been going on for more than 10 years.
The Fins historically are competitive against the Pats at home, going about .500 against them during the brady era. So not terribly surprising they lost in Miami.
Huge game against the steelers this sunday afternoon, with homefield advantage in the playoffs at stake. Whoever wins likely goes to the superbowl, assuming a team like the jags or chargers doesnt pull an upset in the playoffs.
If I were pulling for anyone in that game, it would probably be the steelers. It's been what, 7 years since they played in a superbowl and 10 years since they won? Brady has his 5, let rapelisberger i mean roethlisberger have a 3rd ring. Plus if brady wins a 6th title patriots fans will be arrogant cocksucker-levels of insufferable, and i dont know if i can handle that...

In my empire of dirt
if there is football on my tv, im watching it baba'
as far as chiefs and chargers go, this is the game that will decide the afc west in my book
if KC wins, they take the west and hopefully regain the momentum they had in the beginning of the season
san diego wins... wait what?!?
/years of habit
LA coc's win and its going down the the wire , and the west most likely wont be decided unitl the last game of the season

regardless of how the pats play in the regular season (or should i say reg-lhar'? toker?) the playoffs are a whole nuther level and the pats turn their amps up to 11 in the post season
/ slowly sips lawhhge cawh-fee at dunkies

so looks like goodel dodged jerrahs' bullet and still has a job as head mouth piece for the NFL
cant wait to see what changes he has in store for next season

enjoy the games, everyone!
things are starting to get good!

Both games today are on NFL network, so you probably need directv or verizon to watch them unless you find a stream somewhere.
Chiefs and chargers are tied at 7-6, but the chiefs won their earlier meeting, so this game will likely decide who wins the division (raiders are one game behind at 6-7, and split their 2 games with the chiefs, and are 0-1 vs the chargers).

Goodell got a 5yr contract extension (starting in 2019), worth up to 200million total, but only 4million per year is guaranteed. And I dont think he got his lifetime free use of private jets. I think his compensation is closely tied to revenue growth. I'm not sure if lower tv ratings = lower overall revenue, but if it is, he better start worrying now.

That boston accent was terrible, Pop. I think you've watched good will hunting too many times...

My league is calling for Winston to have a better game @ 44.9 pts against 22nd ranked ATL defense against qb

and Bortles 39.1 pts against 29th ranked Houston against qbs.......

Winston was injured in their first meeting with ATL.... so nothing to go on there.... and Bortles scored only 22 pts against a healthy Houston defense in the beginning of the season..... ARGHHHH!!!

I know you all were losing sleep over my lineup dilemma...

Just wanted to let you know I should be alright.. I have the lead from last weeks match up compounded with a good game from Melvon Gordon last night (playoff matches are 2 weeks long in our league) gives me a 44 point lead with 8 guys left to his 7...

He is #1 in our division and I'm #4... So an upset will be grand!

Dang Bungles, what are your scoring settings? 8pts for TD passes and 1pt for every 10 passing yards? In my leagues, QB's score 20-30 on a good week...

Winston has been various degrees of bad this year but like bortles is a better fantasy qb than real life qb. The tampa defense is pretty bad so winston may have to throw 50x to keep up with atlanta.

I actually picked up bortles in one league and am starting him over cousins. Also have foles and garappolo in that league. But to be fair, i got knocked out of the playoffs last week so it's just a consolation game for me, and i figured what the heck. It's riskier to start bortles over cousins but the redskins offense has been all kinds of injured and kirk has been held in check last 2 games. Also fournette is likely out for the jags so bortles will probably be forced to throw it more.

Speaking of mariota, he, winston and carr have all taken a step back this year, their 3rd in the league. Mariota is dealing with hamstring and ankle injuries (may need surgery in the offseason), winston a throwing shoulder injury, carr's team has been inconsistent or just bad most of the year. Just a disappointing fantasy year from all 3 when expectations were high at the beginning of the season.

Yea its a fun league, that we have been playing for the better part of 10 years.... 8 teams so there is plenty of talent for everyone to pick from... 6 point touch downs with ppr and all sorts of bonuses for the skilled positions.... The low scoring leagues look real tough..

Mariota was the QB I auto drafted at the beginning of the season... everyone else I picked up on waivers... pretty crazy actually how that worked out

Maybe next season I'll try my hand in a league with tougher rules...

In my empire of dirt
i ended up watching it online and it was a good game overall
hopefully the chiefs will get back on track and win out the season to give them momentum going into the post season.
also remember, this could be alex smiths last year in kc
/he can make that a really difficult move by doing well in the playoffs but you have to wonder how long are they willing to let mahomes marinate on the side lines
either way, smith will get paid and should see a big contract from KC or a new team (pos:denver)

my old lady os from mass
shes lived here in san diego for a while now so she dosent really talk like that much any more
its funny but every now and then she will say something and its like listening to cah-tawk

enjoy the games!

Don't sleep on Dorsey in C-town... He brought him to KC in the first place.... lots of possibilities for Alex Smith

In my empire of dirt
no doubt,mrBungle
there are a lot of teams that need a good qb and i think smith could be that final piece that turns a team around
/den,jax are two that come to mind

The refs gave that game to the Pats... using a folded up index card to check the ball placement? I HATE BOTH teams but I'll take the pats over shitsburg anyday.. and I saw that as blatant fixing...

Bortles came thru big time! thanks for the tips gents... on to the Superbowl... vs my dad... Bigger stakes than ever!

wait a minute i thought the index card for a first down and game winning field goal was the cowboy game vs raiders that happened at pats vs pitts too? LOL. I loved that last play what a nail bitter then relief! Better luck next year raiders. Ezekiell Elliot is back next week so thats good but too late most likey the cowboys may not make the playoffs even with winning the next two they need some loses by good teams so if we do make it that would be amazing but i am realistic the superbowl is a long shot this year. The eagles aint slowing down even with wentz out for a year they look good with the backup qb.
And greenbay tough luck they almost made a classic rodgers come back . I only hate greenbay sometimes being a cowboy fan but oddly i think greenbay is my #2 team

He he, your are an Atlanta Fan? The dream for the play offs is over for Green Bay. Aaron hadn´t enough power in his arm. The last years GB often had bad luck with injured players. For the rest of the season, I cheer for the Rams now. An interesting team I think. Last seasons QB is now the Vikings QB, he makes a good job!

To torture you a little bit more, take a look in the foodporn thread. ;-) Missus and I checked a new asian restaurant. :)
