Amen to the comment shared by @Hombre del mont , I did try to do as you suggested with some of the "extra" jars I had hanging around..., and plan to open them up tomorrow at the roughly 6 month mark in the process. I'm not expecting much, but think that the result will at least be a much better storage method than just leaving it in the jars under vacuum seal. I will post pics and thoughts on how things are going so far, for educational purposes!
I do think that the cobs made from more freshly harvested material will work out better, but the product that I had available that I tried cobbing will probably age more "gracefully" than the stuff in jars that is oxidizing over time, albeit slowly. More to follow!!

Question on banana leaf wrapping. Do you use fresh or dried banana leaves? I wanna try this on my upcoming ssh Catpiss harvest.

Its banana bark from the plantain that is used or maize husks traditionally but I'm sure the leaves would also work just never tried them.

Thank you! My banana tree isn’t quite big enough to harvest bark, so I’ll give it a shot with the leaves. Who knows what will happen?

Last of the current grow ready for aging I might remove a few stalks first though.
The aroma is very heady sweet funky pine and something else that is awesome to sniff.

@Tangwena, Those are some amazing colors/ colours that you have there, incredible looking, and I can only imagine how great it smells!!

I'm trying a different technique on this one it may not work but I'm hoping ha ha.
The buds were dried very slowly in cold 15c conditions in a card board box after 3 days I think?
I sealed them in a vac bag because they stunk a nice smell but wow! it was filling the whole house up.
They stayed that way for 2 days no heat, until I had time to get to them they are drying naturally outside the house.
I will cob them up once they reach the level of moisture I'm after probably today. Then go straight to aging.
Again in cool temps, I'm after more terpy flavors.
I have found that my winter (here) crops are more to my taste. Its just an experiment it wont destroy the buds so nothing to loose.

This mornings medicine for Mrs DM and myself.

Golden Tiger 35g Or 350 100mg doses! Or 1750 20mg doses! 20mg although small is sufficient to get someone with a low tolerance high all day.

Made on the 17th December 22, so 7months old.
It's hard to describe the smell, but it does remind me of the smell of the Thai sticks that we used to get in the 70's in the UK, but maybe that's just my imagination.
It's rock hard but still has a tackiness to it like a piece of nice hash.

I've only just finished my chewing and already I can feel it. It feels like I'm bubbling inside and it's rushing up towards my head! Large doses can be a little overwhelming at first.
It's like the early stage of taking acid.

Yes thats my current problem brother I'm on the 20mg dose regime and my last 2 grows netted close to 500g of cobs now aging.
Not to mention my older stash from the last 4 years ha ha.

When you dont smoke at all it lasts for years and years and years ha ha.
I think growing, cobbing and chewing is the best way for small tent growers to maximize the returns from small grows. I know I can never catch up with mine and I'm chewing it every day ha ha.
I want to grow so many other plants but what can I do with all the cobs? Its an amazing problem to have.
I have never had so many doses of cannabis in my life. Its like having a 1000 pages of blotter ha ha.

Currently we have 8 different strains cobbed, in varying quanaties.
If all goes well this season i should end up with another 7 different Sats to add to the list.

@Hombre, as brother @Tangwena said so well, Wow, that's an amazing looking cob!! I also second his comment about wanting to get on an airplane for a visit

I have yet to try any of the cobs that I also started in December last year and you are inspiring me to start thinking about doing so. They look pretty good, not quite as colorful as yours though, and should be an interesting experience. I am also a lightweight so I might have to ease into learning what the correct dose is! Nice problem to have... enjoy your day, cheers!

@CDNINCA , with a little practice yours will be just as good looking, if not better.

Starting with drier material and not sweating for too long helps with the colours. They are so many variables and with me only cropping once a year, it makes it hard to experiment as much as I'd like; but I'm certainly not complaining

Perhaps a icmag cob brothers meet up/party in Southern Spain is in order?

If the cobs were made in December then they are definitely ready for a sample. I like to break off 5g or so at a time, for daily use and reseal the rest for further aging/storing. I have 6 small jars that I keep my daily supplies in and alternate between them.
Dose wise, you shouldn't have a problem. 100mg is a nice starting dose for someone who's used to being high.
I can get high from as little as 10mg but I much prefer the larger dose.

So, how was the new Golden Tiger club that we broke open this morning.

8 and a half hours later we're both still very high.
The initial 3 or 4 hours were very energetic. We both achieved much about the house and garden. My siesta was an hours space out rather than sleep.
In the last hour or so we're both begun to feel more stoney, but not like monged like space cake makes you feel. Still able to function, but feeling a lot less inclined too.

My 85 year old mother in law insists on returning to her homeland Portugal in September for a month.
She is fragile mentally and traveling with friends on the way over but not on the way back.
My wife and I are both renewing our passports in case we have to go over and escort her back.
If we have to go we will def be staying for a month to make the trip worth while and we both prefer Spain to Portugal southern Spain in particular.
I think my wife has a nefarious plan to get me off my ass and into a plane ha ha.
I dont normally leave Australia unless its to go fishing somewhere exotic ha ha.
If I end up in Spain brother I will be dropping in for some coffee and cob for sure ha ha.
