*Blue Dream, 3.6Kw's, Coco... Making it happen.

:rasta: 2/20/2010 update

So here is the rundown...

Done this a few times before, I am new to this site and this is my first time going to Coco. After reading libraries of info posted by the cheifs' in here I've decided to get some pics up and welcome all advice...I've thrown out the hydroton, they are bastards to clean and the coco just can't be any easier. Im in cali, prop 215 compliant

I've started with 50 Blue Dream Clones all super healthy (from harborside). After my last harvest I am in with love this strain, It has massive buds that fall over if not supported and it has the qualtity of any other med strain.

EDIT: My Room is 16ft by 14ft, entirely light and air sealed of course. My artifical sun is made up of 4 x 1000watt Quantum Digital 240V Ballast with Hortilux Bulbs + 1 x 600watt lumatek, all air cooled through hydrofarm reflectors with one 8" fan, room has CO2 enrichment via CAP-PPM3 + lp burner, also have intake and exhaust fans to scrub room when humidity increases. Cooled using 24,000 BTU ductless minisplit A/C, humidity is controlled by Sante-Fe Classic PHAT dehumidifier.

This time around i have thrown out the Advanced Nutes.
Im using Rezdog's Recipe, so far im using 1/2 strength, just thrown in bcuzz root juice and calmag.
The clones are exploding in growth, i planted into dixie cups of ff light warrior 2 weeks ago. 90% of them are rootbound so i know it is time to transplant. My camera sucks so i can get much of the root porn but they all look amazing. I going to plant 45 of them into the main pots this weekend. they will veg under the hps' for one more week then bloom into beauties . R/O water ph 5.8, 600ppm right now.

The big pots they are going into are 4 gallon of 70% sunshine just coir with 30% perlite. I will start with handwatering but will switch to automatic drip to waste eventually.

I am doing sort of a modified scrog, the blue dream get very tall with huge lanky buds and i need the scrog to hold the branches from bending. They naturally strech enough for me and i will not be topping them in anyway b/c they like branching already.

Enough b/s, Here's the pics

Very healthy indeed. I'm glad to see some other folks on this rez formula, it works. Also, just had my first try of blue dream recently and it was a very impressive smoke. Blueberry flavor with a dream like high just like the name implies. Will watch this thread for sure.:smoker:

Into the HPS... any suggestions for the coco drip?

what kind of emitters r you using? I started off with 2 lines per pot and switched to 3 within the week because it wasnt getting an even soak. i use 2gph emitters and they get watered 5 times a day. early flower and veg they took 2 minutes @ each 5 waterings. now two weeks into flowering and im running it for 4 minutes when the lights are on and 2 minutes during the night cycle

easiest way is just to time it till runoff. I like to water till runoff when lights are on and then half that when they are off

GL they are looking good

feeding them with 2 lines per pot w/ 2gph drippers. first watering today was 5 mins which calculates to 1.3 L per pot, Not much run off due the damping of the coco.

at this stage its ok not to get runoff. later on when they start really drinking try more frequent waterings so every time you get a little runoff. and with rez formula I would do like 5/8 a little less then full strength as long as your not getting runoff

i am running bludream and greencrack. pix soon. 36 5g buckets,, 6 1000w hps, rockwool n hydroton.
they look just like mines! im veggin em out 3 weeks. i hav tall ceiling.

Right now i am feeding them with 3 minute intervals. morning and night. Using the recipe at 600ppm pH5.8, Light 18/6 temp 80'F, Hum 50%. I will veg them until they reach the scrog (trellis) net, in about another 9-14 days.

Very nice looking cali! I too am running blue dream from harborside, both in coco drip to waste(2000) as well as a rdwc with a scrog (1200w). Your room looks so sweet man. Keep it up and updated, so happy you joined icmag!

excellent work, friend. from what i've read about the blue dream, its a stretchy lady that will branch on its own without topping, be prepared for a huge amount of growth.

Last crop i topped half of them and left others natural, the ones that were not topped produced more bud, some with 2oz colas. I will just trim the bottom stems but will not top any of them due to the amount of branching they already have. Plants seems very healthy, I've kept the lights as low as possibly and yes they love the stretch, Besides one bad watering due to a low pH which i believe led to slight yellowing on the inside of leaves, not sure though because they all look great.

Here is a new update with the scrog made of pvc and trellis netting. iphone pics are the best i could get, doesn't work well with hps

Update: So far the plants look great on the recipe, I switched them to flowering Wednesday the 11th. They are now 2 days flowering and i am debating weather to top them or not b/c i know already they will be to tall. If anyone has advise it would be appreciated in regards to topping, fim, etc....

the clones i got from harborside don't really need to be topped. they like to branch out on their own i'd maybe gently crush the stem near the top node to give the other side branches time to catch up.

looks good man my blue dream are in day 30 or 31 in flower gonna take some new pics today

keep it up  cheers
