Yesterday in the break room, I over heard 2 much younger co-workers engaged in a very spirited conversation. I was operating on a couple hours of sleep, so I sorta just zoned them out.


When I got home, downed a few energy drinks, that earlier conversation came rushing back to mind. I remembered a certain word they kept repeating. So I googled it.

The very official ad for the product was jaw dropping.

Like 2 girls one cup jaw dropping.

The product is called Oculus Rift. I'm usually not an early adopter. In this case I'll make an exception.



Have any of you heard about this?

Will this be a game changer?
Will teenaged boys ever leave their rooms ever again?

HAH! thought it was gonna be about bitcoin, yes occulus rift is going to get some SWEET games now that john carmacks on board

VR headset + DLP = 1/5th of the matrix

I don't know what country they air their tv ad in, but it's pretty risque'.


Sex sells, but come on, it has other uses.

Were you aware that the guys doing research into superstring theory... you know, the math that defines the construct we refer to as 'our universe'... have discovered a binary code within the math.

What is this code? It's error correction code... the 'exact same' code that modern programmers use for error correction in software today. Not 'software like' code but exactly the same code we use ourselves.

Now... what was that you were saying about the matrix 'coming'? lol

It's not really new tech, it's just presented in a much more feasible format. The sinking video gaming industry definitely needs to do something to get gamers back on board though. Even with new platforms introduced the industry only grew 1% in 2013.

I have had friends in the industry that have to uproot and move the last year or so due to the stability of the industry. Including one friend that just finished Guild Wars 2 for Arena Net and now has to move to Canada because she can't find work in Seattle.
