Me too. I wouldn't trust a pH pen any further than it could throw me. And I'm a skinny guy.

I do...............and yes you have to keep a little sponge in the cap to keep it moist.Does anyone have a Milwaukee SM 802 combo tester? I'd like to know if you have to keep the probe wet of this meter.......You know how the Hanna combo meter has the sponge cap to keep it wet? Does the Milwaikee SM 802 combos probe need to be kept wet also? I'm between a Hanna Combo tester(Last 3 # 129) or a Milwaukee Combo Tester Sm 802? I want one of these 2 just not sure which one yet
Joe you need a new probe. I had one new and had to replace the probe in less than a year. The new probe lasted a lot longer at least until it got wet on the inside of the meter. I use a Oakton Ph meter now. I've had it about two years and have only replaced the batteries.
I think on every PH device you need to keep the bulb wet??
I called a few manufactures a while back about what to store the meters in. I was told that Storage Solution is best. Next best is PH 4. Otherwise distilled water can work too. Once I started to use the Storage solution I had a meter that worked much better.
You do have the Hanna instructions? http://www.pmtac.org/download/HANNA/98129_98130.pdf
The GH pH calibration solutions are 4.01 and 7.0--Hanna is 4.01 & 7.01; close enough for me.
GH uses 2930 micro Siemens but Hanna expects to see 1413 so that's not gonna work for automatic ppm calibration.
