Silverback's Threads: the Complete Collection

Silverback last and biggest lesson was his dead. He fell down from a mountain while he climbed for his guerilla spot. you can die or never walk again if you choose a spot like silverback.

You should check your facts before posting. He had a heart attack while climbing down a 40' cliff and fell into a dry creek bed. You can't legislate against having a heart attack, it could happen to any one of us. I only hope that it doesn't happen to you. Anyhow, enough with the digression please, this thread is for those who wish to read Silverback's sage advice.

Many thanks Kiloz!

This is just to let everyone know that I've added one more thread to the list – "Effects of Pregrowing OD Cannabis plants". It's not a thread that will appear in any of your searches on IC, so it wasn't initially included in the list. However, I managed to track it down with google, after remembering the thread from years ago:

Thanks man! This is valuable to any outdoor grower that preps plants inside.

"Conclusions:

The results measured at the end of the season, against plants not pregrown demonstrates that pregrowing cannabis for more than 30 days indoors before transplanting OD doesn't result in a larger, higher yeilding plant and may infact, increase dramatically sexual and growth stage confusion and other conditions as well as a decreased yield.

*High nitrogen available during certain high growth phases of the plant, combined with topping, seems to have a much greater effect on size and yield than any attempt at pregrowing."

if u havent read the "discussion on mould" make sure u do. that thread saved a few my plants that was ravaged by bud rot. so i cant wait to use the prevention plan this year. after seeing what greencure did to active mold infections,im pretty confident that this will be my first year ever mold free or at least 10% or less mold

This is just to let everyone know that I've added one more thread to the list – "Cannabis Root Systems":

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=88368

A couple of members recently renewed the thread, so we can thank them for that. Like the last thread that I added, this thread is unusual in that it won't appear if you search the forums for the username Silverback. I remember the thread well, as I quoted Silverback's first post, on another forum a few years ago. Anyhow, please enjoy reading.

You may find it useful to know that while he initially praised the vigor of Mandala #1, above, he later mentioned in the Outdoor Strainguide that the indica pheno was too heat and moisture sensitive in the drought conditions of 08, despite heavy watering, and he therefore wouldn't grow it again. However, he said that the sativa pheno, which represents 1/4-1/3 of the plants, performed very well and would be worth cloning out:

The last thread reveals that his climate wasn't doing him too many favors. He mentioned in the Outdoor Strainguide that it was so dry that summer that he watered each of his plants with 2 gallons every 5 days – so he ended up with a very respectable harvest despite the conditions. His strain reports also make it clear that he had next to no bud rot that year. Anyhow, please enjoy reading.

gunnaknow - thank you. Although my join date is new have been reading since 2012. At present, I have been stepping thru the outdoor grow section searching for SilverBack.
His life was an adventure and his best thought to another outsiders is this:

Everything good requires effort doesn't it. Cannabis growing is a lot

like fishing. You can sit on the bank and wait for a bite, or you can

brave the bushes, bees and mocassins to get just in the right spot -

the one where Moby Dick lies in wait for your worm! The good things in

life arent easy, they take work, scratches and cuts.

We might as well be honest here hamstring, just like with my own

situation, other aspects will almost always determine your harvest

dates. Wayward 4 wheelers, rain, rain, rain, cold, farmers,

helicopters, hurricanes, freezes, did i mention rain and cold?

YOu know hamstring, that's really what seperates us outsiders from the

rest of the pack; We know we're going to get cut, scratched, almost

caught, attacked, eaten, sunstroked and drenched and yet we throw the

stuff on our back and work like hell with no more than some seeds and

some hope. I love outdsiders, they defy all resistance and perservere.

Every outdoor grower I ever met was strong willed and determined to

succeed. Even when we loose crop after crop, we're back the next year

with new seeds and renewed hope.

Nature be damned, I bet you accomplish your goal!
