how long can light cord sets be ????

how long can cords be from digital 1000 watt galaxy ballasts and still fire hps bulb and not damage ballast?????? my farthest distance frompanel to farthest light is23 ft??????

thats a fine distance....

lighting companys sell extensions that are a thicker gauge wire, to run even further....
