Day 22

Everyone has been moved into the bed now.

Still got Chem D S1 and Chem 91 x TK clones from last round, on the left there. The D just got put outside tonight, and the 91xTK will go soon, too...both guerrilla-style.

Lemon Party S1 started praying within 2-3 hours of transplant. Smells like lemon pez candy.

Day 28

One more week of veg, then I'll flip 'em. Lemon Party S1 fell over somehow, she's good now. Lemon cleaner smell getting stronger. But the Chem Mafia has everything else beat in the smell department thus far. Super loud cherry skunk smells on both of those.

Day 3 Flower

Identified the branchy Chem Mafia as a female, which I was hoping for... I axed the other one.

I think the medium-sized CDLC is male, but will wait a couple more days for confirmation before chopping. I wanted that one to be female due to size, smell, structure, etc... But the biggest one smells the same, like leather, no signs of gender yet. The little runt has no smell, barely hanging on under the canopy of bigger siblings. I think it would be Chem D-dominant. More waiting...

Next up is Girl's Best Friend, she's the tallest of the bunch so far, cookies smell I think.

Followed by Purple Punch in the back corner. Very vigorous and uniform, sweeter sorta smell like the flower from the dispensary.

And finally, Lemon Party S1. New growth is super light colored, almost white, but grows out to a healthier green color. Strong lemon smell when I stick my nose in it.

The flower pot sitting on top of the bed is the Chem 91 x TK clone from last round, which smells like garlic skunk. I'd love to be able to taste her...

Day 7 Flower

The medium-sized Chem del la Chem F2 is confirmed male, and the runt is confirmed male, too. Surprisingly, the biggest one is female!

Over in the short corner, the Chem (Cherry) Mafia by Ziplock Seeds is staying much shorter than I would have expected based on her vigor in early veg. Something about that corner of the bed, man...always short! lol

I've been hitting the dispo for too long, just want to harvest something of my own, and fast!. I'm confident that I've taken care of the issues plaguing the first couple of rounds: Scrubbed the whole place with white vinegar, re-painted, installed the intake filters, fans blowing across top of substrate.

No plans to retry the drought stress method this round, but once the room is dialed and I get to know one or two keepers, I might try it again.

Took clones from everyone a couple of days ago. Looks like they should all make it, except the Chem 91 x Triangle Kush, which is looking questionable. She was slow to root last time, too (3+ wks), though.

Hey Dopey things are looking great!
was wondering do you mix your bed up after harvest?
Be strange if you mixed the bed up real good and still have problems with that one corner and short plants

renne Hey, thanks for dropping in! This is my 3rd (sorta) run in the bed, I scratched- and watered-in some amendments between the first and second runs, but nothing between the second and current run. I'll scratch in more after this round.

My only environmental concern with that corner is it's proximity to the 6" exhaust. Maybe it creates too much suction or airflow? But I honestly think it's just been bad luck with unknown genetics.

I could prove it by running a clone of one of the taller girls (CDLC, GBF) in that spot next time, if I get a keeper, that is. I like the nose on both at present, so maybe!

Starting to see roots on 3 of the clones after about 10 days...

CDLC and GBF are stretching ~2" per day, currently 22" from the light at it's max height. Hopefully just a few more days left here at F18.

Day 21 Flower (yesterday)

What a difference in just the last 3 days! Chem del la Chem F2 is about 46" now, only 12" or so from the light, and still going...She's just starting to show slight signs of light stress on the top leaves. I've got the light pulling 380w, don't think I'll increase the intensity any more.

And Girl's Best Friend has virtually identical structure, stretch, node spacing, etc... These two probably need MORE light earlier on, but was limited this round by minor light sensitivity of one other girl.

Got a bit more info on Chem Mafia from the creator at Ziplock Seeds...he says the 2 different names (Chem Mafia vs. Cherry Mafia) were the result of using 2 different male phenotypes during pollination. So the pack I received had a more chem-leaning male as the father...cool!

The girl with the minor light sensitivity is Lemon Party S1. I've seen light stress on the leaf tips for several weeks now, so haven't felt the need to push the light intensity higher. She has a couple minor leaf deformities, but otherwise growing well.

5 of the 6 clones have rooted now, leaving only the 91xTK. She was a clone, herself, so she got a little further in the flowering process than the other girls in the bed before the cut was taken. I think this is also slowing down her rooting, but she's starting to perk up. I'm guessing the roots are already growing, just haven't made it to the side walls of the cup yet.

I'm happy to be walking into a room with flowers again! Need to work on minimizing downtime between runs. Take care out there, everyone!

Looking through the lower nodes last night, I found a few tiny pollen sacs forming on 4 of the 5 girls, Purple Punch being the lone hold out. One of them on Girl's Best Friend had actually opened up and I thought I saw a little dust come out, but meh....no worries.

I also accidentally broke the top off the CDLC girl trying to use wire to bend the main cola ever-so-slightly for the first time ever. That is all.

Wishing I HAD used the net this time. I completely underestimated how much they'd stretch with only a 5-week veg... Live and learn.

They're all basically staying in their own lane, though, except Chem del la Chem, that lanky girl. She's got the most frost on her leaves, though, so I forgive her (and tie her up, bdsm-style).

But her cousin, Girl's Best Friend, is just as stretchy but with stronger branches. That top will look funky by the time she's done!

Not hearing much of anything from Purple Punch in the back corner, there. She's just quietly doing her thing, no balls to pluck, no tying up, just a handful of fans and lower branches removed. Quite an easy girl to grow so far...

And finally, the 91xTK girl in all her garlic glory. Looks like that GBF herm pollen may have been just a wee bit viable.

Here's one of the lowers on GBF, right near where the pollen sac was.

I'll gladly take some S1s, or the (91xTK) x (91xGSC) cross any day of the week!

Day 29 Flower

I think Lemon Party S1 might be close to almost being ready to stop stretching...possibly. lol She's as tall as CDLC and GBF now! And her flowers are far less developed than all the others. Her pre-flower bracts have swollen so much already, I can really see the sour diesel coming through. Strong lemon nose coming on.

Next up is Chem Mafia, she's happy down below the main canopy soaking up whatever PAR she can find. Still the strongest nose of all the girls, deep cherry funk. Wicked serrations, too, very distinctive amongst the group.

Speaking of funk...91xTK trying her hardest to stink up the joint! Definitely have a single bean growing inside her.

Next up, Girl's Best Friend is also sporting some extra-fat bracts, filling out nicely. I can definitely smell sugar cookies and some chem funk, very nice!

I did a little more defoliation on Purple Punch last night, just another half-dozen fans or so. Not much of a nose on her, but she's purty.

And finally, Chem del la Chem F2 still cruising along, keeping the leather smells all the while.

All of the clones are now out of the dome and under the 65W HLG, except 91xTK. She's got roots showing now, so just another day or two until she moves up, too.
