Tangerine kush DWC scrog

Time for the overdue update! The canopy has filled out nicely. I leveled the canopy almost a week ago with some vigorous topping. I have also given her a good leg shaving, a slight deleafing, and the first full resivoir change since she started.

Here's my way of mixing nutes. I start with an almost full 5 gallon bucket 65°f ish of tap water (city water at 100ppm on 700 scale). The water is stirred and it gets 3 small scoops maxibloom, stirring again and add 20ml bud ignitor by advanced nutrients, stirring again and add 25 ml of cal-mag plus by botanicare, stirring again and add 10ml of ph down, stir once more and add 2.5 ml of orca. The reason for all the stirring is to get the damn maxibloom to dissolve into the solution. After all this my ph is at 5.7, ppm is at 900 on the 500 scale, res temp is at 65°F. Total resivoir volume is roughly 15 gallons and my roots are a nice creamy white. Since I didn't bubble the tap water to flash off the city chlorine, the ph is gonna climb overnight. Tomorrow I will bring the ph back down to 5.7 to 5.6 and add more orca. The bottle says to adjust ph and then add orca. I do and they keep my roots super healthy😆. After this ph will very slowly drift up or stay reasonably stable. Res temps tend to stay around 67°F to 71°F.

Above the waterline, the enviroment is sunny and usually 77°F to 82°F. RH is usually around 15% to 35%. Plant height is at 24" to 26". I've currently got 30 inches between canopy and the bottom of the reflector. Speaking of which the light is running at 600w currently. I will bump it up to 750w over a few days and give my baby time to adjust to the higher light output. She might stress a little at first but she will learn to love it😉😎.

These were taken today and it's the second day of 12/12. Things are going to slowly get more interesting and I will try to update this once a week.

Here's a teaser of what I have coming up next. 5 of 6 seeds planted are growing in my diy dwc baby box. The strain is brothers grimm Cinderella 99 ( c99 ). If you have heard of her, You know. If you haven't, do some research. I'm curious to see if the new batch can match the legend of the original. I'm hoping one of the phenos is nice and fruity 😈.

Week 1 of bloom update:
The phantom was turned up to 750w on Saturday. No signs of stress or issues yet. Due to limited head room and small tent size it will probably remain at 750w. She has grown 6 to 8 inches and is happily eating nutes and drinking water at close to the same rate (water level drops and ppm level doesn't fluctuate much).

Hey mate the z99 was Zoidfuel x C99 from Wally Duck seeds an Aussie seed company. I never got to finish them coz got raided n locked up. Here's the genetics for the Zoidfuel;
old aussie sat(sourced here) x chinese indica (sourced here in oz)) crossed to ((old aussie sat( same line) x png gold( brought back for me from png)) = the line the zoidberg cutting came from( could call it the zoidberg line, never really named the line)

zoidberg cutting x (fof3)progeny tested father of fuel male 3( aussie high altitude sat line i called the fuel line)
= zoidfuel f1s

Damn, shame about the raid. Makes me thankful that it's legal to grow where I live. Sounds like alot of time went into establishing the lineage.

Beginning of week 3 update. Buds are developing, tricromes are starting to appear, she is continuing to stretch a bit, and is voraciously draining the resivour

The resivour was drained and filled with week 3 blend. The mix is 1/2 stregnth av big bud and nirvana, 4 scoops per 5 gallons water maxibloom, 5ml per gallon cal mag plus, orca, and ph down. Ppm- 1000, ph- 6.0. All temps are right where I want them, and rh is mid 30's.

Other things worth noting are roughly half the under side was pruned. I am going to trim most of the lower branches and leaves this go around. The idea is to have the plant focus on growing the upper side of the plant, instead of wasting resources on larf/popcorn. Don't get me wrong it's great for making bho, but it's alot of extra time processing.

Another neat thing is the solid canopy is actually helping shade the resivour.... as in my resivour is staying around 65°F without use of a chiller. Normally res temps hang out around 68 to 70 when the ballast is set on 750w.

I am also doing some lst on some of the tallest soon to be colas. This should help the slackers catch up. Anyhow here's the new pictures!😆👇

Yea rez shade from canopy is cool byproduct.

Absolutely trim lowers. Lollipop them girls. I also typically remove some of inner most smaller growth that isnt getting sufficient light.

Great work. I think youre in for a treat dude.

You are at the lowest acceptable threshold for rez temps. This is a relatively good issue. Much cheaper to get heater than chiller. If it goes below 65 id bring it back up. You can get lockout under 66 or so potentially

Coming along nicely FF!! U have filled that space wonderfully. Yeah def good idea trimming lower parts. U want that energy focused on her tops.

Oh I will be trimming the rest of the underside tonight. I like to spread the heavy pruning out over a few days. Less stress that way. The upper side will also get some deleafing and thinning as the canopy is super dense. If I don't thin it out mould could be an issue later. This strain grows some big colas and they are going to need to breath. If she does as well as she has in the past, this could be a 1+ pound harvest. The real treat is how flavorful she is with a propper cure. The bho has a 20 to 25 percent yield by weight. The crazy part is the candies we make with the bho taste like fruit loops. I'm also going to try making fresh frozen bho with some of it.

Carnage!

Carnage!

The deed is done! Her legs are finally shaved. It's pretty wild how branchy this strain is. It has been quite the experience giving Scrog a try.

Tomorrow I will thin out the top for the main colas. Currently it's way too thick up top for propper airflow.

Any advice from the scrog pros on any details I may be missing?

You may have over vegged for this strain in dwc.

Id rather over veg than under veg.

Great work thinning lowers. You are killin it my man. I wanna try some Of those candies lol

In hind site I probably did over veg them a bit. The nice thing is that I have plenty of tops to pick and choose from for which I will allow to stay. Tomorrow I will thin out the canopy. I'll remove most of the shorter tops and wimpy side branches. This is going to be a cola focused grow

Ghost them candies are delicious. Tastes just like fruit loops. If you ever swing by alaska I'll hook ya up. The recipe is just a hard candy recipe with the addition of bho. Well a little more than that but it's pretty basic. Google badkittysmiles. She has a bunch of good information on making cannabis edibles.

Alright, beginning of week 4 update! The canopy was gone through and all weak looking branches with under developed buds got removed. Also I did a little deleafing. From this point onwards she isn't going to see much more trimming.

Enviroment is stable at 75 to 80, rh was a little high at 45%. Res temps are around 68, ph 6.3, and ppm is 1000. Plant height is just over 3 feet, with a base stem thickness of just over 2".

Other things worth noting: resin production is really picking up, and my favorite smell is back!!!! The buds smell just like orange cleaner :woohoo:. The first time growing tangerine kush from seed in dirt, she was a runt (less than 2 oz) and didn't have a strong smell, but coated in resin. Second time I grew a clone of her in hydro and it turned into a 9.77oz monster, reeked of orange cleaner, and you couldn't look at her without getting sticky. I am proud to say she is at it again. Exotic seeds sold me the magic bean ha ha ha.

Mid week update. Added 5 gallons of water to res. Only thing added was ph down. Res ppm was up to 1600 prior to adding water. 5 gallons later ppm down to 900.
