Purple Haze x Honduras

Beautiful plants Kaskadian ! A real treat for the eyes of every sativa lover :)
My only problem with Ace seeds is that when I visit their site I want to order all the sativas they have... ;-)
With the Bangi Haze I also received 3 Panama x Malawi fems, 3 Panama x Bangi Haze fems, 3 Malawi fems and 10 regular Golden Tiger. I can't wait to start them but, due to a "freezer accident", I first have to reproduce and save the many strains I've kept for decades.
The best to you and all readers :)

Thank you brother!

I'm sorry to hear about your freezer accident but I hope everything will get sorted out quickly. I also understand your problem with visiting Ace's site; I've got enough packs of Ace seeds to not need to grow anything else for the foreseeable future. I still pop on and look just about everyday!

When you start your grow I hope you will document it so we can all enjoy seeing some of your work.

You're very welcome Kaskadian.
Thanks to you for the great pics you're offering us :)
I'm afraid that making fresh seeds to save the old strains will take a while as there's quite a lot of these. Some are gone for good though, their seeds frozen by the condensation... It's sad but they were mostly indica leaning hybrids from my younger years.
Honestly, compared to what I see in most threads, my grows are not really worth looking at.
At the latitude I am, days are very short (the longest one is 13 h 15 mn...) and living off-grid doesn't allow me to play with the lights as I'd like to.
I depend on a small solar installation for power and because of the more and more frequent cloudy days, it often happens that we are down to 1 light bulb on for the whole house. When it happens, the seedlings and clones are under this light but it's not exactly the perfect conditions for growing the best looking plants. Being in a place where you're jailed for a few plants doesn't help anything and I just hope they'll legalize before I'm dead. I'm not complaining as I still get plenty of nice buds but the plants themselves are rarely good looking as they often suffer from rains, pests, fungi and viruses, including the TMV... I had the chance to visit and spend a few weeks in Oregon and I loved it ! :)

Couple random bud shots for you folks... Not much else to report on so far. Just growing daily. Odor is staying relatively low but I'm getting tones of sage, mango, spice, wood, and garlic.

Hi Kaskadian,

I'm really excited to see the flowering traits of your different Oldtimer's Haze x Honduras females! :) Your description of the aromas anticipate very old school sativa terpene profiles.

They are enjoying a lot with your good cares, thanks for that and for all your updates! :ying:

Thanks Dubi! I’m very excited to watch these girls develop. These are definitely unlike anything I’ve ever grown before.

One bit of bad news folks. I had one girl go hermie like crazy! Within a couple days it was a real banana farm on her. I tried wetting and plucking the nanners but every day I checked there was more and more. I double checked and there are no light leaks and I’m not using any flowering stimulators. I think it’s just a freak accident, no biggie she got added into the freezer and will be used for some bubble hash. With at least 6-8 weeks to go I made the tough decision to chop her and get her out of the room. I sprayed down the room as best as I could and I’m hoping that puts a stop to it. I’ll get some pics up soon.

I’m sorry to share that news guys. If it was a couple weeks to go I wouldn’t have chopped but I can’t risk the other gals with two months left to go.

Hi Kaskadian,

Thanks for the update and sorry for your loss. Were the seeds feminized ones ?

Nope they are regular seeds. It only happened with one girl though and I can’t rule out the possibility that I did something these finicky sativas didn’t like. I’ve been very impressed overall with 4/5 females and excellent vigor on all of them.

Thanks for this precision Kaskadian.
It sometimes happens for no reason (at leat none that we can understand...) with sativas, and more often in the tropics when you're outdoor...
Well, it's a small price to pay for the soaring high they usually give us.
I hope it wasn't your favorite but I'm sure your other beautiful girls will have at heart to make you forget this little disappointment ;-)
A very nice week end to everybody ! :)

Oye, Kas! Nanners are definitely no good news and despite your preventative measures there's no way knowing whether copulation has/hasn't already taken place...it'd be great news if no fiki-fiki ... :)

Hey brother! You’re absolutely right, I won’t know whether or not any pollen has spread but I was trying to control the spread as best as possible.

The plants are look looking excellent, and I’m still happy either way. Ace has great genetics and I’m learning how to keep these sativas happy along the way. I don’t mind a couple seeds here and there but ideally there won’t be many. ;)

Hey Bro!

I think I can only blame myself for something I must be overlooking. Ace has solid genetics and I’m sure my inexperience with these tropical sativas played a role in stress I may not have been aware of.

I’m happy to say it wasn’t my favorite looking plant! The rest of the gals are looking lovely and I’m definitely happy and excited overall. To get 4 females out of 5 beans I feel like even after removing the hermie I’m still doing better than I had expected out of 5. I was hoping for 1-2 females and I definitely got more than I hoped for.

Cheers guys!

Wow, I couldn't explain to myself how I could've overlooked this amazing tread! It's well written and for me is very informative about growing on coco. I'm sorry about the hermy but I too think that sometimes it can happen with extreme sativas. Very Interesting genetics too :tiphat:

Twoey, thank you so much for all the kind words my friend! I feel lucky to be part of this community and to be able to get feedback from many kind and knowledgeable individuals here.

With all the help and knowledge I’ve received from folks keeping a log is the least I can do. If I can help even one person by keeping this log or perhaps just document results from this cross then that’s something I can feel good about.

Thank you all for the continued support and assistance!

Hey guys,

This is going to be another long multi-post reply. I don't feel like there needs to be a ton of extra information, but I'll try to get this updated as best as I can. At this stage now (post-stretch) there isn't much to update on besides flower development.

For anyone curious, I'm only watering + feeding once daily @ 3.7L/1 Gallon. I played around with the idea of doing multiple daily feedings but I like how this is working out so far. I'd like to be consistent with this grow and then play with other various in the next.

I'm sorry for the messy shower pictures but it's what I've got!

Cheers guys! Lots of love for all of you. Dubi/Ace Crew: thank you guys so much for what you all do! These strains wouldn't be accessible for most of us without your passion for these sativas.

:thank you:

Congratulations for this beauties and thanks a lot for the great pics Kaskadian !
That's pure sativa's lovers porn and, in the very unlikely case it was needed, there could be no better advertising for Ace's awesome genetics !
These girls are just perfect and I'm afraid drooling over them is not going to help cure my permanent "I also need this strain's seeds" disease... ;-)
The best to all of you brothers :)
