Come one come all first grow starting coco

New grower here new to forums as well I am setup with a 5x5 grow tent started them off in rapid rooter cubes switched them over to 1 gal smartpots with coco perlite mix 70/30 under florescent light putting out 6500k. For two weeks they are now 18 days old under 1000w mh. I flushed and pretreated my coco with half strength nutes for 24 hrs before putting seedlings in pots. I am running 6/9 nutes formula watering about 100ml a day on half strength nutes. So far things look good excited to see how they progress.

Welcome and congrats on choosing the easiest method to reap great results! How are you getting drainage in your setup?

Thanks for the welcome guys. An chef I am using smartpots so it drains right out of the pot I will be setting up an irrigation system using homemade drip rings... and Tim good luck with your coco grow as well hopefully it turns out good.and thanks for the welcome AP glad to be here

Is there a place for the runoff to go, or does it just suck back up into the pots? If you don't have a place for the runoff to go, find one. One of the keys with coco is to get proper runoff. If it doesn't runoff to waste, you can get problems with salt buildup.

I am currently waiting on a flood table to come in I will raise them up a bit so they aren't sitting in water and then either suck the runoff out as needed or set up some kind of automatic drainage for it

Nice. Drill a hole in the collection well (you'll know it when you see it) and insert a bulkhead fitting. You can then attach a hose and snake it wherever you want it.

Yep... that. Doesn't have to be much. Make sure the low side is the side you are draining from. If you're in a hurry, just use leftover pots, 2 stacked together on the back side and one on each front corner.

Thanks for the input guys. Got the table set up still working on few things gonna raise the pots to top edge of flood table. Still working on the automatic drainage. Here are some updated pics at day 26 now feeding full strength nutes 1 min every six hours.

Just this guy, ya know?
I think he just means the pvc piping and the metal valves. A lot of people just run the smaller plastic stuff.

Ahh yea but I got most the equipment from work though so it was free and it gives me a lot better control over flow and run off idk how the other system is it might be better. But It was nice to make my own exactly how I wanted it and have a little project out of it guess it's my maintenance side coming out

It's awesome, don't get me wrong. As long as you're having fun, growing some great herb and not going broke in the process, little projects like that are what keep me going.

Yea it's been a good time and pretty cheap cost. I like the little projects like that as well Keeps me busy went through a little bump in the road needed something to keep me busy that's when I figured try to grow some nice buds and have little projects in the process so it's all been good. But yea I went that route because I got most of it free so was cheap cost and a project for me
