any good campaign stories?

this must be a cry for help because

1) anyone looking to network saying "hey i smoke weed" in a normal world is gonna be fucked

2) anyone who admits they're a nerd who likes D&D is gonna be fucked

used to play in the 80s, became one of the filters through which i interpret the world, like when i think about shit that's going on. i have a few schoolfriends in SF who still game.. and i think, i don't socialise, but D&D with some seasoned potheads would probably yield some choice moments.

can live without it, D&D isn't going to help me get my shit elevated, and all the gamers i find locally look to be extremely vicious corporate types (overweight, mephisto beards, albert pike on the bookshelf kinda guys) who would delight in an incarceration (at least they delete my posts and ban me). i also figure any kind of general social group in today's society is gonna be headed up by FUSION center dicks running game. it's not easy to find actual genuine people using the in place networking mechanisms. maybe there aren't any genuine people left. i've never seen an episode of game of thrones in my life and i'd hurt someone before i had to.

dude said he needed that explained. who the fuck doesn't know that?

i explained it to him, and fucker gave a fucking lecture about how it was illegal, and kept repeating the phrase "you continue to have problems" like he was casting a fucking spell of bad luck because someone smokes a fuckng plant he doesn't.

I played pictionary a couple of times and quija, until I was caught cheating on pictionary and got haunted because of the quija, then I quit board games lol...

it's a game for white kids. first you need to buy a lot of stuff and have a "rich fantasy life" populated with all the tropes of boring europe, like people who like to wear hats for no reason and say "whither" and the like.

one person is the master of the game and the others form a gang of thugs, then they tell a story together where they journey through a magical world, beat things up and take their stuff (white people love stuff) and the master rolls some dice to tell them what kind of stuff they win.

that's how white kids can live their entire lives without going outside and seeing anything that may encourage them to respect life or interact with it and that kind of shit.

it's a pretty good game, i like it!

it's actually pretty badass. like, in the original version, they list like forty kinds of polearms, like they're really into polearms (as long as they're european).

it used to be you could be a fighter guy, a wizard (to lure kids into the freemasons), a cleric, which is boring, or a thief.

yes, D&D legitimised breaking the law for many otherwise perfectly behaved children.\

thieves are awesome too because they fight pretty good and start with like a 70% chance of being able to climb a wall.

i tell you bro, if you have never been outside and climbed a actual wall, this game is the next best thing!

I reminisce sometimes about my middle school adventures with D & D and friends. Sometimes I wish I could find an amazing Dungeon Master/group to go back to that time...
But you can't step in the same river twice.

they've been playing some real cool hands on games for decades now, some of the padded weaponry from American Gladiators, towers, foam blocks and obstacles from WipeOut etc...

great stuff, too bad I'm friggin' hobbled by arthritis, I've always had great balance and agility from my sports activities and the local motocross riding we did in the early '70s.

yeah there's a market on foam weapons for LARP "live action roleplaying" (however that is - the D&D rules have been through a few "rewrites" a.k.a. "let's sell all the books again")

or if you got ends there's the SCA society for creative anachronism

but i prefer taping pipe insulation to a broomstick. more fun, less pretentious bullshit. good times.

i agree, the right group of heads, could be a blast.
