ok im just curious because i know this is weird. do you ever find money? how often? in the last year i have found money 40-50 times. twice i found $20 and then 2 minutes later when i got in a cab i found a $2. then another time in a 2 minute period i found a dime then a quarter and then a $20. in between i have found at least 10 quarters and about 30 dimes. it is always dimes. at least 8-10 times i have found multiple times in a day. if a week goes by and i havent found any money it seems strange and then sure enough within a day or 2. dime. i dont believe in anything that has to do with luck. nor do i believe in coincedence. (i just noticed that has the word coin in it):nono: all i can make of it is i have some strange but temporary magnitism towards currency. like in a positive currency mode. opinions?

My half sisters think that them finding dimes is a sign from my step-dad

And butterflies, and certain music

As an atheist, I keep my mouth shut - it's just coincidence, but it makes them happy

Nice goin' on finding the $$$ - it's your now

its not the money because other than the 2 $20s it really doesent amount to more than a cheap lunch. its the frequency and predictability of it. like i said i now expect it. i dont understand but i want to.

I found $5, $50, $2, $50 & $10 just lying in the ground in different places over a 2 year period about 10 years ago but haven't found anything since.

Also, i found about $20 in small change scattered along the side of a country road once when i was younger, like someone threw a piggy bank out a car window.

Does finding money in water fountains count ?

One of my exgfs, a long time ago, she found a pack of cigarettes
In one half, there was a row full of smokes

In the other half was 110$

I asked her if i could have 10$
She said yes

It was so kind of her. Especially considering she didnt have any for a while. Her mom didnt buy much food for the house

Lol, it pays to ask
We were teenagers back then.
I was happy for her

You know, i always felt that looking in packs of cigarettes, is sort of, thrashy looking. You know, garbage picker style. But since that time, i feel like looking myself (but dont really except a little press of the foot on packs from time to time)

Another time, im thinking a decade ago, it was me and 2 friends
It was one of my friends bday, we had rented a little motel room, had some tequila, beers, weed

We were right next to the strip clubs (not a regular)
No money to spend on girls but did enjoy the show with our beers

We went to the more sleazier club
One friend pays a pitcher
At some point, i get up from chair and notice this purple 10$ on the floor with no one near

Next round was on me (woohoo) talk about feeling good

It was a time when we were more innocent, less angry/worn down by by life

My friends were not so far into their alcoholism/drug addictions

Just some good old fun with the old friends

Happens once in a while, but usually less that the equivalent of 20-30 bucks. It is for sure less than I lost over the years.

My wife likes to find coins, rings at the beach or parks..

My wife likes to find coins, rings at the beach or parks..

We use metal detectors, mostly for looking for gold nuggets but they are great on any metal.

We always find something  it's best to go out at low tide.
After a busy beach day (people go in the surf, fingers shrink and the rings go in the drink)
Lot's of change around the walkways and the pier. You have to be lookin.

Surfers don't lose much. Family beaches are the best.

I've got both VLF and Pulse type detectors.

Or as my wife says "Get your eyes right"

The most I've found was $400.00.Everyone was just driving over it,it was in a address book.

On several occasions I've found money in my front yard, two twenty's and a fiver.

I've found a lot of money through out my life.

Funny, I always felt like I was really lucky when it came to finding things on the ground.

In grade 10 I found a 20 bag of weed on the corner where we smoked between classses. As I was skipping inside all happy, my eyes see another dime bag. It was a half gram of a very expensive powder drug :)

On the new years that just passed, I was drunk as shit at a very busy bar downtown when I bent down to tie my shoes. Found a $20 bill. Right after I found it I jumped in a Taxi and there was an Iphone on the back seat! (tried to return it but owner never came)

I have found 100 bucks at the bus stop once and there has been several times that I have found between 5-20 bucks but they aren't interesting stories. Change on the other hand is EVERYWHERE....

Billy bud I think you just have your eyes on the ground more then others and thats why you seem to come across change all the time. Yesterday I saw an older man drop two quarters in line an mcdicks and he didn't want to bend down to pick them up. He clearly noticde them on the ground, but didnt care enough to take the time to grab them. I regularly do that with nickels and dimes as well. I see them all over the sidewalk..

what i am tripping on is the frequency. i can pretty much set a clock to it. at this point i just shake my head and chuckle. it has to mean something. there is no luck only odds. the odds of this happening the way it does are ridiculous. what fucks with me more is that we are rapidly moving towards a cashless society which imo reduces the odds even more.....

for kicks i counted.(i keep them in a special container) 1 $2 38 dimes 6 nickles and 0 quarters? (obviously my kid scooped them for laundry) that is not counting probably 8-10 times i accidently threw them in my regular change jar by mistake. 38 is a relevent number for me. a few months ago i counted how many times i have moved in my life and the number was 38. coincidense? no such thing. re occurances mean something.

Ya i can imagine 50 cents not being worth the bend when your old

And you didnt pick them up for him ?

The person who found hash in amstersam reminded me of this story.

I had taken the bus to amsterdam (was in Europe)' was there for 3-4 nights

When it was time to go back, i went to the bus station to catch the coach bus

I was waiting for my bus had an hour or two to go

I found some weed on the ground, in a baggie, if i remember correctly it was afgooey
I figured, i am going back to another country, dont want to deal with customs, having that smell around me after smoking it

So i continued

I went inside the bus station central... Walked around
Was fairly young, not even 20 yet

I then made eye contact with this group of youngsters
They were a big group, around 8-10 of them
They looked like punks (kids who fool on the street looking for trouble)

Right then and there, i just got the feeling (6th sense) there was trouble, so i started to turn back and get away, and as i was doing so they started running after me

I went back, took the exit, and there was this shawarma/falafel place behind, a big line of people (people doing nothing might be more prone to help then people walking fast in the bus station) once they saw i was next to that falafel place full of people they slowed down and werent sure what to do

So i continued going in that direction, trying to go around the bus station
I arrived at this bridge, and i saw that 2 guys were there waiting for me, maybe 3 but i remember 2 for sure

So i said, fuck, and even went further around, i was sort of happy because i was seeing more of the inner city, seeing the locals

So i went around and finally managed to get around the bus station, was now at the front of it
So i went back to get that halfgram or so of afgooey bud

Rolled that shit, smoked that shit

Went inside the bus station next to mine, told the guy at the counter people were trying to rob me and if i could stay in there waiting for my bus, he said sure, (thank you my good man)

So i sat down on the floor next to 2 other travellers, i then saw that they were from same part of the world as me and we got to talking, felt like home was right next to me

Now i am much older, i have travelled more and to worse places, and know how to defend myself, so i think i would deal with these situations better, but, chances are i would have done the same today

1 vs big group can be risky
Not impossible, depends on circumstances but i wouldnt risk it unless i had no choice
