Canadian Health System

I've read and heard a lot of negativity about our "Free health care" especially long wait times, well I can say first hand about my experience.
When I had a heart attack and double bypass it was about 6 months from heart attack to bypass, and that was about 15 years ago. More recently with my leg issues the time was about 4 weeks from diagnosis to surgery.
Most recent lung cancer diagnosis to numerous tests (pet/ct scan, brain mri, and biopsy) was about 2 weeks from seeing family doctor to specialists to tests.
All things considered I think that is fantastic. So all in all our system works quite well.
That being said this is my experience and my opinion.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with the free health care in Canada . I am around a lot of Canadians in the winter , and during the this time I have questioned many , asking their opinion of the free health care . Every one of them responded with nothing but positive statements about their health care .in fact most loved it . This information needs to be presented to the American public over and over and over again .
