Mpp vs. Safer arizona

I think you confuse existing medical law with mpp's draft for initiative concerning recreational marijuana.

Yes maybe I'm not sure. The final unified draft was submitted by MPP and apparently thanks to all the pressure on the two dispensaries there will be home grow rights for everyone. No 25 mile rule it seems? It looks like municipalities can only make rules to regulate dispensaries, not home grown. Not sure 100%.

Now time to get out the vote :) :)

well, i have to retract my above post, i definitely have the amma and this legalization stuff confused.
Saw the 6 plants per person, i'll have to read the whole bill, didn't see the 12 per household.

6 sucks, but better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.:)

Here is the final text to MPP's proposed amendments for legalization
https://www.regulatemarijuanainarizona.org/initiative-text/
I don't see in this the Medical provisions I see a lot of TARE "Tax Allocate Regulate Enforce" I don't see this as legalization. I don't think much of it will stand to constitutional muster. I like the very last part so just WHAT are you voting for then?

" Sec. 8. Severability If a provision of this Act or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the invalidity does not affect other provisions or applications of the Act that can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this Act are severable. - See more at: https://www.regulatemarijuanainarizona.org/initiative-text/#sthash.6YPoV4B5.dpuf

I really don't see the reason or benefit to the citizen here with this push. Holding the distribution point to 1in12 of Class A liquor licenses appointments to boards by the Governor, Immune from rule making, the "Board" will investigate and monitor the "Board" So the biggest contributor to the Governors Election Campaign will be those on the "Board"
IMHO this is just bad very bad proposed legislation. Everyone seems to think that Big Gift under the tree is growrights but like the last paragraph says if any parts is found not to comply then it wont stand. Well get this Grows right wont comply with previous administrative law on the 25 mile rule so it could be those growrights are thrown. I mean who is going to sit on the board? This is lambs to the slaughter bah bah bah I can grow my own bah bah.

It would be nice if someone could give us the cliff notes for this. It is hard to understand leagalsleaze.

I have heard that most of the conflict between the 'players' was not the issue of home grow, but the decision to who would get the really big bone. Follow the money.

Just like with our national politics they keep us mollified on one front and rat pack us somewhere else. So I'll take my little "we'll let you grow", and slither off to my corner.
Sad but it is an old game.

I understand I agree with you. I have been prosecuted so many times. I am getting to know the brands of whips that have ripped and torn the tender skin of society so many time. for What has been called the public good "current Marijuana laws" If you just read the Summary and then read the TEXT you will see the fine print in legalize and who editorialized it?

I will only support 100% grow rights , 100% free market rights, 100% medical if a complete test on each and every product certified and bonded in course. All Medical will be administered by the AZDHS and sued to comply and pick up the legal tabs to force compliance. Max that can be taxed in any part of the state is 17% this includes all local and state agencies. there will be no wholesale tax flat tax on sales that is it. Hemp goes to the dept of Agriculture as it will become a commodity soon and governed by international trade and federal mandates.

We the citizens of Arizona pass this crap the stink storm that follow in contrast to federal laws will be fantastic.

Wolf, They are not prosecuting individuals now who at home who have a medical card that are growing less than 12 Flowering Viable plants now. You see selling large over the limit operations being busted but not the card holder. That's what they want to change the law right now. An Administrative Law Judge says the 25 mile rule is compliant with the law. The AZ supreme and Appeals court say the 25 mile rule is in conflict with the MMJ written law and stands. It is unlawful to prosecute for an individual to be prosecuted for growing 12 plants with a medical card. There is just absolutely no one that has anything to gain by reporting this. Except the home grower and this and the like is the only forum they have Bless you grow and your understanding

Look at what is pending the Obamas approval this will effectually removes Marijuana off the schedule 1 list.
http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-medical-pot-20141216-story.html

so If Medical marijuana is allowed by the Feds, and AZ goes with this ridiculous proposal regulate marijuana. We will no longer have Medical or the protections from the federal government or standards that will be set by the FDA. But we will have the ability to grow 6 plants that the rules could very easily say you bought from a state licensed and only a stain allowed by the state. Rules could say no more than a 8% thc level will be allowed to grow the rule are not in you don't know what your voting for. Except that there will be a board to with fantastic powers license enforce and tax that is it.

Do people understand the rules have not been set yet !! It would be very easy in the rules to say that a person could grow 6 plants 12 per household. But they had to be purchased from and Arizona licensed Dispensary and only of strains approved by the board. Each plant would have to have a authentication of purchase. The rules could very easily say only Medical patients can grow certain nonprofitable or high strains if paid and extortion amount in a license to do so. And if caught with a plant out of approved strains and the DNA from a lab test proves it you could lose everything and it would be a civil action not criminal where you have rights.

These are the same people that ran payday loans Financing the dispensaries and the likes of Joe Arpaio. Now they have a former DEA coming out for legalization. These people are not noble soldiers of the frontline they are the purveyors of markets and have been for decades. And with legalization coming they see the Golden Goose dyeing. So Now they are buy are trying to get a front seat with the "Regulate Marijuana Responsibly" The whole appointment by party and affiliations will be thrown as unconstitutional. As well as the independent that sit on the board just what capacity they have but to just give comment and recommendation nothing they want can or would be binding just a Dog and Pony act to fuel the smokescreen. This is not the legalization Arizona needs or wants.

All good points.... We do you need a cliff notes. I think it is not possible though because the text is not clear on so many points.

Can anybody clarify what the impact on medical would be? The fact that the text does not clearly state anything about medical marijuana is very telling... Why would they not put clear MMJ wording in the text before it was submitted??? Like other posters and said, the board rules that come could be outrageous. Local ordinances could start popping up just like in California. it's just a big can of worms.

Now that it's been submitted it's too late to do anything but discuss and eventually vote on.

Nice. Kinda like a breath of fresh air. After all that bs with mpp, cooler heads prevail. Misdemeanor for under 99 plants. sales of live plants, no household limit on grows but 12 per person... lots of goodies.

If I am reading right Mike from Safer Az. is supporting both with a preference to MPP's rather than Mindfull Reg's. I am also of the understanding that if you vote for both and the MPP's passes with a small margin it will prevail. NOT GOOD !

Here is a thought why would Safer AZ. NOT support and run the risk of alienation of support by grassroots established citizens. Mike is not stupid but can be bought he just sold intellectual right to his 1 day certification program $200.00 LOL that taught everything one needed to be in the Marijuana business.

With all of the Copy written peer studied research from Israel and Turkey. With the data basis at the Hebrew University in Tel-a-vive and Ataturk in Turkey. Over 39 years of study and published in 27 different languages. So if the MPP's proposal flies who's data do you think they are going to use? Who is going to be on the board to make the rule as to the RFP for documentation on codes and standards?

I am saying to this day MPP and Safer AZ is a shill for limit market, eliminating all kind of possession rights medical rights, use rights, employment rights, even a minority of cities can outlaw still limiting those in business. I mean dam all the new board has to do is canves Cities to eliminate anyone from doing marijuana business and get paid from the ADA and the Board to do it.

Do you understand that AZ outpaced all other states in revenue 112 million and they want more market control and money. These fucking dispensaries and MPP want to take every cent of disposal income that the mentally challenged physically impaired and addicted have basically taking MONEY RIGHT OUR OF KIDS MOUTH AND THEN SAYING I COLLETION MONEY FOR EDUCATION FOR KID WHO CAN EVEN CONCENTRATE FOR LACK OF SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT CAUSED BY ECONOMIC DEPRIVATIY THAT THE DISPENSARIES ARE FINIANCING FOR.

sorry but people would have to be stupid to vote for this which is why I think MPP's will pass

So there is another petition for the legalization this more responsible to the consumer

http://azfmr.com/news/exploring-why-azfmrs-marijuana-legalization-initiative-is-different/

This is better than MPP's and Safer AZ's read the difference you will like it

I'm pretty sure that these three orgs have hammered out a compromise initiative.

It is what you will find now when you go to MPP's website.

I posted the text in a thread in the Cannabis Laws & Cannabis Legislation forum.

feel free to read it.

I'm going to get some petitions and get my friends and fam to sign. So far most aren't even registered to vote!
No clue, it's going to take some work if the average pot smoker's not politically involved enough to even know there is a chance to have legalization on the ballot in '16. Or to get off their asses and go to the polls.
