yeah i have had good results with Finisher and PH'd water for last 3 weeks of flowering for 9-10 week strains... seems to give them a boost compared to just PH'd water 3 week flush... and no difference in the smoke of final product.... :dance013:

Looking mighty fine - thanks for all the uodates - have nice harvest

I didn't have time to read all of this but did get through a lot of it. Good info, great looking grow.

I noticed though that nobody mentioned Snowstorm. On another forum I read a thread that, in my mind at least, confirmed that TRIA was the ingredient in Snowstorm. One of the reasons was the PPM of Snowstorm Ultra (SSU). Also after reading the MbFerts TRIA instructions and the way it describes the appearance after mixing, that sounds exactly like SSU to me.

Any thoughts? I have been using SSU for three grows now and this last one I upped the dosage in the final 2 weeks to 3 tsp/gal. I am growing in a #4 mix, mainly compost teas and organic ferts and this past grow is simply amazing. I am just using compost teas and mainly organic nutes, lots of my own bennies I sourced myself. I do use CO2, but at lower levels than most people, but that is another issue. Anyway, I will get an easy 6 zips per plant. I put in 20 plants under 4 600s and 2 1000s. So I am pretty sold on the SSU and I hope I am right about it having TRIA in it.

So, I got on the computer this morning because I had decided to just start ordering from Mbferts, and when I googled it this thread came up in the results so I decided to take a look and was kind of wondering why the Snowstorm wasn't mentioned. I mean not to sound like you need to mention every product that might have it in it but whenever the subject of TRIA comes up, SSU is usually the what is used as an example of nute companies using it. Since I noticed no mention of SSU I am wondering if maybe what I had read on the other forum was wrong so I wanted to see what you guys thought?

The general view every where you look is TRI=SSU
and AN nirvana

Sorry if it's been answered already, but my searches have turned up nothing. Is anybody here familiar with Triffid and know the application rate for foliar feeding? The manufacturer says 4L of the concentrate makes 60L, which works out to about 4 tablespoons a quart and I have a strong feeling that's too much.

its soluble in hot acetone and in high % isopropyl alcohol (hot also). it will dissolve but the wax will break down once cooled down.

but the chemicals you want are allready dissolved in the liquid so ignore the cloudiness.

Nice thread; finally something practical oriented and not just scientific blabla.
But where's the update on the harvest yield? Would be really interesting to know if all the hard labour you went through and more importantly the hormone treatment paid off in the end!

Bump for an oldie.
Hey shaggy, I'm not sure how to message you but when you used the mbferts vitamin and hormone booster did you use it throughout flower or stop at a certain point? And did you notice any difference in quality of the final product?

I have just read that there are certain hormones people prefer to use only at certain times all in there and was wondering what your first hand results were.

you can use mbferts thru-out veg to bloom. I have a 1run experience with it, shaggy probably has more experience with it.

But from what it contains, the tria causes stretch (node/stem and possible fox tailing in buds).

it also has alot of poly20, if your medium is hydro its gonna interfere with nutrient uptake.

I've used the MBFerts "boost alternative" with Tria. It definitely makes for bushier plants with more nodes/bud sites. However, the buds (for me anyway) were smaller and fluffier.

I've gone back to just a kelp foliar to encourage branching/bushiness. The kelp may have tria in it as well, I have no idea on that. Regardless it seems to do the same job just in a more gentle and controllable manner, without reducing quality.
