Your not going to find any more info because there is none. NDN got them from a grower friend of his who grew them outdoors for years. He told me this when I got them, that's all he knew.They were labeled 79 Xmas bud and he was holding them to do a new afghan project. He passed them to me and my two friends did the seed increase. From there they were spread around and here we are today.

Contrary to what you may read by some goof over at the farm, these are NOT ptk. NDN definitely had PTK seeds in his garden and these were not labeled as such, they were labeled Xmas bud because that's how they came to him. I also spoke to NDN about the Gainesville green post of his from 10 yrs ago and again, he told me these are not related to his knowledge. Christmas bud was a term for weed just like a lot of other things before strains really had names. Lots of misinterpretation going on by spider, spreading lies.

At this point anything you hear is speculation because no one knows. The best opinion most of us come to at this point is its obviously a oldschool Afghan type of plant and seems to be fairly consistent so it's likely been worked some and that's about it. Anyone who tells you something else is full of shit.

Would it be safe to say these are full bred afghans and not an afghan outcross? That post says everything I needed to know and I say thank you! Knowing as much as possible is much better than lacking the necessary education on the specific strain blessed be. I will be posting my pic's on my 2 79xmas bud plants to give this thread some good ganja porn xxx lol

If I were to guess I'd say yes there pure afghan but without any kind of concrete background it's really just an educated guess based on the characteristics.

At any rate, I'm glad you got a hold of some and hope you find something you like ! Can't wait to see what you get

My 1979 xmas buds phenos 1 and 2 are both females 1 has that grapefruit white rhino kinda smell the other is like strawberry candycane so let's hope they retain that in flower and when harvested and dried

xmas bud was never purely pine. its called xmas bud because the plants look like christmas trees and the strain was grown outdoors in the north east usa and came around during the holiday season (christmas) hence the name.

Not sure. Lol I got 5 seed plants going from #2 and #3, 4 are identical in all aspects and one is much bigger with a different floral structure but exact same Gatorade Gum astrigent nose.

This is what I suspected.

This thread really should be about finding "christmas tree buds" IE super frosty buds with red/green hairs and an unmistakable overwhelming sweet piney aroma that fills the room like a balsam, douglas or fraser fir - without any dank must, skunk or funk present.

pic is mango zamal a 100% sativa from Mandala (discont.), NOT in any way related to xmas buds. But this is my idea of what perfect xmas buds would look like
