Just thought I would start a journal for my grow I’ve had nothing but problems from the start but I’m starting to iron them out now ph is on point so is ec, res temps are a little high at 22 (got a chiller coming next week) running 2 blue gelato 41 and a phantom og from barneys farm did have four blue gelatos but 2 died so I popped my free seed and put it in my system, I’m about to start integrated pest management with neem oil because of holes in leaves here’s a list of nutes I’m running:
Advanced nutes Sensi Grow a+b
B-52
Voodoo juice
Hydroguard
Using phosphoric acid for ph down
Here’s a couple of pics

These plants have been in my system for 13 days today, been topped once and I’m planning on opening the plants out with netting once they grow a bit more

Welcome to ICMag and congrats on your grow! :D

Mites don't generally leave holes and there are better choices than neem oil. I don't know if you've heard of "Scromiting" but it seems to be caused by 2 different things. CHS is a sensitivity to THC, and almost the exact same symptoms are caused by the azadirachtin in neem oil.

You'll want to identify what the pest is before you begin treating with anything. You'll want to find where they came from and what their breeding cycle is. Once you know this, you'll be much better equipped to to eliminate the issue.

There's tons of information here, welcome aboard. :D

Plants been in the rdwc for 4 weeks yesterday dropped the b52 and voodoo juice and just running Sensi Grow a+b and Hydroguard, started lst and a bit supercropping to open the plants up and try and create an even canopy with plenty of tops, I used neem oil around the tops of my pots, around the bases and all vents and socks in the tent plus used sticky pads to see if they caught any pests, nothing to date caught. Also started insulating my system and I am in the process of making reflective jackets for my pots.

Res temps 20 degrees, ph 5.8, ec 0.9.

Some white light photos would help a lot. They don't look so hot in yellow, a white light shot will bring out the true colors and help with contrast.

Update on grow

Update on grow

Today I bent a few branches over to open the plants up a bit plus tied a few down with twisty ties ph 6.0 ec 0.9, res temps 20 degrees air temps 24, gonna veg a little longer see if I can create an even canopy around a foot and a half tall before I flip been told these strains don’t stretch much after flip, still suffering holes in my leaves here and there and things that look like little tears, treated once with neem oil and will be again on Sunday but cannot see any pests with or without loupe.
I’ve also topped the smallest blue gelato again to fill up the space a bit more as i snapped a branch supercropping I tried to save it but was dead the next day.

Looking good Hydro!
Keep an eye for bugs and pests, but they look fine.

How high does the water goes in these buckets? Does it touch the netpot?
How are the roots growing?

Reservoir changeout complete on Friday, dropped the ec to 0.6 as still think it’s a tad to high, added b52 and voodoo juice again.
Still practicing LST, got my plants looking like shrubs well 2 of them anyway and I’m happy with how this is going, don’t know how long I’m going to veg though as the plants leaves are starting to overlap and I’ve cut the ties off so they start growing up instead of out.

Update

So I finally flipped the plants last night and I’m going to be feeding grow nutes the first two weeks or until I see crowning, I’ve upped the ec to 0.7 and I’m in the process of making my own support nets for the plants for when/if they pack on weight

Appreciate the white light photos, they make a huge difference. The crinkling of the leaves shows a pH imbalance, but otherwise they look great. :D

Ph imbalance

Ph imbalance

The ph imbalance must be from when they were seedlings because I’ve had everything spot on ph wise since plants have been in rdwc system.

No, that's current pH crinkling in the regular growth there. FWIW, I only allow 6.0 pH for a short period of time before dropping it back to minimum (5.3-5.4 for Roots in hydro like dwc, rdwc and such) by adding nutes back. The link in my sig describes the process I use.

When you allow a full and natural pH swing, you'll find you don't need as much nutrient and your plants are happier. :)
