anything I,ve ever grown from aficionado , mean gene /aka freeborn selections played a hand in .
the black lime reserve collaboration and the white cherry truffle which aficionado used genes cut without permission in it .

much happier now just running freeborn gear solitary without the aficionado link ...thats not cause of the shady dealings either .... the quality was coming from freeborn side of things .

the new cherrylimeaid x pina will blow your sox off , super sexy that one in particular . the only problem with freeborn selections is access to them and availability.

I'm not going to use the word 'sifted' because it's not my word, it's aficionado's, but he'd selected those plants and seeds out of a much greater selection of lesser plants and strains. And some that were just as good, probably not a lot better because it's good stuff. He'd either been gifted the seeds or plants or picked them up for $15 at the Farmer's Market in Fort Bragg or whatever. Certainly didn't pay more then $20 a clone or anything for seeds.

Aficionado describes Forbidden Fruit as:

Loud and robust frame of jet-fuel and Chanel No.5 balanced by a vivid screen of dripping gasoline, citrus perfume and paint thinner. Expect an oily finish that lingers with hints of lemon peel, lime zest, and hairspray

Which cracks me up. It describes the Royal Kush hybrid to a T. Very citrus. The seeds I have also have skunky cat pissy phenos. Just pollen chucking these strains together yields interesting types.

Not that big a deal but it cracked me up because of my earlier comment. The old time growers in Mendo are trading and sharing all the stuff these guys are selling, either for free or for trade or gas money or whatever. They've done the real work, 'sifting' through thousands and thousands of plants to select out these nice phenos. And chumps are selling and buying this stuff for that much money just to get a piece of something real.

By the way what is 'Highland Afghani'? There's Highlands in Afghanistan sure. 24,000 feet up in the Hindu Kush, I don't think there's many grows up there.

Like I said, he refuses to kick back anything he was given and refuses to heed restrictions.
Same shit Dubi of ACE seeds pulled with Spanish grow scene.
That Killer Malawi is Malawi x PCK - no wonder its potent and narcotic.

Highland Affy’s are a thing.
Lowest elevation is about 3,000.
Vegetation starts dropping off above 7,000.
It makes a big difference.
Ive smoked NLD Highland Affy and its all relaxing of the mind while not touching the body, so no lethargy. I love it. The other Affy’s really dont compare.

i have to admit i stumped up the cash for their creme brulee after watching jodreys work on youtube.

You can ask anything you want for anything. When you ask too much it is a lonely and unprofitable world.

From a marketing stand point they suck. I could not find their website, they have some social media(amateur grade marketing), I can't look at their youtube without signing in. When someone is full of hype but don't have the marketing to back it up... Fail.

Personally I won't pay more then $5. a feminized seed, you don't know what you will get or if it will even sprout. It's a seed.

All hybrids. No hybrids are worth that amount of money in my book. Maybe some rare landraces are worth that. And maybe there are some exceptions for hybrids ie. a RKS Skunk in seed form and some other old school legends.

Also I would never give money to a company that doesn't even have a website themself.

If the strains are truly unique, available nowhere else, out of this world quality, and the general public is willing to pay top dollar for that product, then the prices are justifiable. If they aren't, you'll see threads like this one.

That's the thing.....the seeds they make aren't really that unique. Plus there's at least one company I know of selling the same/near same hybrids for 1/3-1/2 the price. Thing to do is do a google the names of some of the vars they breed with. Then see what you can find that suits your needs, and more than likely they will be a lot less expensive than the Aficionado version.

With the affiliation of the Mendo breeder that goes by the same name...
It would be wise to read the Aficionado threads.


I'm curious if Mr F.Canolli is a part of this?

This!

As long as ppl willing to pay such prices and buy those then of course there is a market for it... the question is always is it worth for me?

Those prices seems to be nothing really new... I’ve seen a few asking a couple hundreds $ for seeds, some of em disappear, some of em a still here... I guess time will tell :)

Well that’s just as lame as selling overpriced seeds and putting them in a rolex box. Is mean gene still involved? Black lime reserve is good. :moon:

Vendor doing the breedings got about 20 yrs more than me and we all have purchased his gear and at 50 bucks per 10 pack I'm sure alot more pple will purchase them also but who am I just a guy on the internet.
