When you say flop over do you mean droop a little or do you mean completely bend over at the base of the stem?

Mine drooped a little but came back to life after a week or so.

My babies drooped no more than this after 2weeks of incubating. Nice roots. They all went free to the sick. :joint:

Perhaps yours got too hot or wet?

ok I mean as soon as you cut them off your mom and put them in (insert substratr here} and they flop completely over?

No, it is due to stress. With the absence of a root structure, the cutting is extremely fragile and sensible to shifts in the environment, such as temperature and humidity. Since the stem and leaf tissue is soft, the entire cutting can just collapse. If the cutting is strong and healthy enough, it will eventually adapt to the conditions and perk back up again.

You can reduce this situation...
When you take your cuttings, drop them immediatly into a container of cool water and let them soak for about ten or so minutes.
This will help them become nice and turgid before you put them into your aero cloner or cloning methods. Also, giving mom a good drink a few hours prior to taking the cuts will help them to be nice and perky before the chop.

Any clone i have that is super flimsy when i cut it i will just toss away to be honest. All of my clones stay perky the whole rooting phase. Sounds like there is some heat stress or you are misting them too heavy.

Personally I have not ahd a problem with clones drooping at all.

I water the mother good, Cut the clone, Place in a cup of water, dip in gel, place in root cube under a dome, Mist really good.

They stay perky throughout their life.

I use a cheapo-aero cloner. If the clone get floppy withing 12 hours - I shave about 1/8 of an inch off the bottom of the stem - USUALLY the cutting will perk up within an hour or two.

When I tried wick cloners - rockwool cubes, IV feedings and any other method than the aero unit - yes they wilted - went limp, then died.

Have you gotten clones that lived before?

Sometime ya gotta keep trying different methods till one works for you.

Yeah tons of them but the gdp and the og purps always flop for 24 to 36 hours before they perk up. Unless I put them in the areo with jiffys . They ****in love the areo in jiffys but the rockwool makes them flop like my dick when I think of old saggy titties :gaga:

My clones usually droop a lot the day after I cut them. The next day they're all happy again so unless they stay droopy for more than a couple of days don't worry.

If this occurrs to me, I usually take clone out of medium and re-cut with razor and let soak in cool water. They seem to bounce back pretty quick. I re-cut due to the possibility that there might be an air bubble in the stem when originaly cloned. Maybe one falls out of the cup I am using to hold clones in when making cuts....

IMO, it would make sense that they droop, slightly. if anything, check the turgor of the stem, that your cutting b4 you cut it, to gauge what you may be in for when you DO take a cut. that way you wont be too anxious to see drooping when you take the cut.

Jus recently I took some clones, all stood like they were on viagra. On the third day I took off the humidity dome and without thinkin dropped the light right down on top of em (I know better than that).By the next day they all drooped,2 ended up diein, the rest came back but very slowiy (after raisin the light back up).So if there're droopin from the start it might be better ta back off on the light alil bit.Maybe these 2 strains are alil more sensitive in that way? Just a thought.Good luck wit em.Take care...BC

Yep, what B.C. said. I've found that not placing a light over my cuttings for the first day or so stops them wilting period. Just placing a piece of card or something between the propagator and the light will do the trick, so some residual light can still enter round the sides.
